BlackBerry PlayBook 32GB, Wi-Fi, 7in - Black

I had put off buying a tablet for ages, would I use it?
My wife has an e-book reader and even as a technophobe, loves it. So do I - e-book reader or tablet? Lots of research later and realising I would get bored just reading I stumbled on this less than well loved (it seemed) tablet. No apps too small, Blackberry a minor player, it's not an i-pad!
OK a lot of this is true but is it a problem, NO.

The tablet is sturdily made, solid with a quality feel.
The screen is better than an i-pad 2, it does flash too.
Can you watch catchup tv on an i-pad?

I paid less for this on e-bay than your average Chinese no-name android tablet and that was a great result.

Yes the screen is small (7 inches) but this makes it more portable and more user friendly especially for reading books. In addition it is a great quality screen - just watched Once apon a Time, Channel 5 / Demand 5, on it and the picture was better than my TV!

If you look hard enough you will find most apps you need unless you are very demanding, many of them free.

I am a tech fiend and love this gadget, yes I am and will continue using it, my laptop is now redundant. Unless you want the latest greatest apps this will be a great buy.

Having gone through 4 laptops in the last 6 years at the hands of our 7 year old we decided to get something cheap and cheerful that could give us access to the Internet for online selling the but would be user friendly for our son. The playbook is very easy to navigate round , it's fast and responsive and the touch screen is very easy to use. I was amazed by the quality of sound from the speakers and the graphics are excellent. The quality of the camera is surprisingly good for such a small device, but I have found sites such as ebay don't quite have the full functionality of the desktop sites. So far so good for the product I look forward to seeing how it evolves.

I bought this item because I fell for the trick "was £499, now £149!" during the black Friday deals. I am not afraid to admit that.
After finding out it was not that much of an amazing deal I decided to look up reviews on youtube. I was no longer looking forwards to receiving it.

HOWEVER. It has really grown on me. The microphones are fantastic, the speakers are good, the camera(s) are OK, and the screen is responsive. I also love the touch sensitive borders.

The only thing that lets this tablet down is the Apps. I have not been brave enough to try and install Google Play on mine yet, so I am left with the rather empty and frankly expensive 'App World'.

Compared to an iPad, it is nothing much; but what is comparable to the iPad in this price range?

If you are looking for a tablet with a good calender, a good browser, good microphones and brilliant multitasking. go for this one.

I have an iPad 1 that I use in the only way that you should use an iPad - as a toy. It's great. I wanted a 7" tablet to slip into my pocket and use for work: emails, reference e-books, contacts, calendar and cetera. A 64gb Playbook is dirt cheap and it's great too. The battery life is less than the iPad but its still good enough to last for a working day. The software is well thought out and easy to use, the thing feels lovely, solid and well made. The touchscreen is sensitive and, all in all, it's as nice to use as the iPad. Apps are a problem, not the unavailability - there are easy workarounds for that as a quick squint at google will tell you - but the price of apps on Appworld is irritation. Angry birds, free on Android, costs a fiver on App World. A fiver! Not that I wanted to buy it but just knowing that it's there is an annoyance. I recommend the Playbook, I really like it. Its size and build quality and ease of use make it a more practical work tool than any other tablet I've used. It's good for recreational use too. All in all, just great in my experience.

Brilliant, better than the iPad by miles. If you do not have one you really should get one! The device is 7 inch which is superb for portability; put it in my pocket and I'm off none of that iPad is too big for a pocket nonsense!
