CECT i9 - Black (Unlocked) Mobile Phone

~My first review. Hope it comes to some use for you!~

I was looking for a new phone and after searching hard at most adverts for cell-phones on ebay this "seemed" to have all the features I was after at a price to suit my budget. Thats when my nightmare began.

The phone came and I couldn't believe the poor quality, For starters I read the adverts very carefully (as I always do). So when it came I was ready to test out these features, How disapointed I was.

Let me break down "a few" of the features that was advertised and what they ammount to in reality.

Before I start I would also like to point out that the i9 / i9+ / i9++ / i68 and a few others look identical, Run just about identical firmware (buggy to say the least) are not branded CECT and you will find the IMEI #'s are unregistered, Not enough to put you off?? (It should be but we will move on regardless).

--JUST IN CASE THOSE SAME FEATURES ARE TEMPTING YOU INTO HITTING "BUY NOW"--

** Item specifications - Mobile Phones (taken from an un-named ebay advert) **

>> "Camera: 2 Megapixels or more"
REPLY: The first unit I tested (the one I bought). Camera result proved to be a poor excuse resulting image (poor) 1.3 mega-pixel resolution. Tested a workmates a scary 0.3MP

>> "Ten Page Sliding Menu"
REPLY: The CECT website states the most they do is 6 pages, More to the point these pages have maybe 6 application per page, Which for me ALL but a few on the first page loaded, The rest failed java errors.
IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED THAT YOU CANNOT DELETE OR ADD ICON'S TO THESE MENUS WITHOUT A FIRMWARE UPGRADE, As its not from CECT you have to hunt 3rd party FW-MODS.

>> "Video: 3GP/MP4, support to play in full screen, forward and pause, support video auto horizontal screen playing"
REPLY: Been encoding for years, Tried all night to get a converted .mp4 movie to playback, Unsupported errors. Trying to narrow down what could be wrong...
I had a friend record the sloppy slow menu's of this handset with his mobile (around 30 seconds). He then sent it to me via bluetooth when I tried to play it back I got the same error.

>> "Data transfer: USB cable/Bluetooth"
REPLY: As stated above had no problems with bluetooth, The cable that comes with it is as cheap and cheerful as the phone, The clips on the pc-usb head will snap with little effort and the soldering underneath means the connections will break completely in the event the head comes loose.

>> "Sliding unlock function"
REPLY: Mix this with a mp3 ringtone and I found the screen locked up when trying the slide for the first few times.

Bottom line if your happy with a phone full of icons that are unuseful and in my case didn't work. This is the phone for you. If you buy a phone for features steer well clear because there not worth the money.

Ps. I settled on a Nokia-5530-XpressMusic, Bought locally for £30 more. Excellent phone!. Eithway hope you find one to suit you : )

this phone looks like the real deal a APPLE IPHONE but thats where it ends, their are a few functions on the main screen that does not work in this country, The software is very hard to use as you don`t get a manual with it. if you take a photo which by the way is a 1.3 and not higher as some state you would hope it has gone into your memory (phone or card) no it is stored where you would lease expect to find it. It is badly made and feels as well as looks cheap, mine only lasted 6wks and would cost just as much to send it back, As for having 2sims this worked very well but the battery does go fast with them both in about 18hrs standby, If the company put more effort into the user friendyness instead of getting you thinking you have a IPHONE by APPLE it could be worth while. If you need two phones then you are better off buying two phones and not this or any of its sisters I68/I68+ and if you do don`t show your friends it as its you who will get embarressed all in all 4/5 for looks 3/5 for stamina (bat) 1/5 for userability 2/5 for price. oh and texting is so small you do need the stylis and glasses...mine now in the bin and frankly best place for it waste of 36 pounds,

Bought this phone for my son as a Christmas present. He was over the moon when he saw it 'I've got a real Iphone great' yes it does look like a real Iphone.
It has a dual sim capability we loaded it with Tmobile payg sim this gives free internet access and free text messaging if topped up by £10 per month we also put an orange sim in slot 2 both work well but as he is only 11 we disabled sim 2.
The phone is easy to use as a phone, texting , MP3 is very good with drag and drop using USB lead.
Camera is easy to use and good quality too. image viewing can be a bit awkward as when you turn it on it's side or upright the flip mechanism is very sensitive and carries on changing and sometimes ends up upside down. You can enlarge or contract photos by doing the apple style pinch or opening finger thing this is very good.
Value for money mine was less than £50 absolutely brilliant. If buying one for myself now I would pay a little more and go for the Cect I9 with Wi-fi for easier access to the internet.
Overall this is a brilliant entry model of an Iphone.

I'm starting to see a lot of interest in the mini iPhone clones, particularly the CECT KA08. People love the size of this phone as well as the availability of different colors for it. This one really has most all of the features of the most popular models shrunken down to a phone that fits very easily into the palm of your hand. In this article, I will go over the performance, features, and pricing on this teeny tiny iPhone clone.

That Small Size: I believe that what draws most people to this phone is it's cute little size. Let's face it. There's no denying that the iPhone is kind of bulky. You can feel it when you put it in your pocket. Or, it peeks out of your purse. It's a bit heavy too. The KA08 doesn't have these issues. It is literally the size of a bank or credit card. It only weighs 68 grams and is among the smallest out there. So, if size is your main criteria, this one will likely make you pretty happy.

Colors: Another stand out to this phone is the color options. While we've had red, white, black, silver and gold for a while, you're less likely to see hot pink or pastel pink, royal blue, or apple green. But all of these colors are a reality with the KA. Of course, you still have your red, black, and white too. And frankly, I believe the white and red looks best because of the high gloss finish to this phone.

Features: If you like the i9, you'll find most of those features in this phone. This one is quad band and dual sim active. It has the shake and tilt feature. It has Bluetooth, WAP, SMS, MMS, EMS, FM radio, and an ebook reader. Even in this small package, you'll find a music and video player. There is handwriting and voice recognition and voice dialing. You can assign ring tones and photos for each contact. The camera / web cam is a bit of an upgrade at 2.0 mega pixels.

But, what this one doesn't have is Java (at least most of them on the market right now.) If you are dead set on having Java, then you may want to check out the i9 3G. The CECT i9 3G is a bit smaller too (though not as tiny as the KA), does contain Java, has 10 pages of new icons, and comes in red, white, and black.

Performance: Like most CECT's, the speakers on this one are loud. The finger touch is responsive and the browser is pretty quick, especially if you use Opera Mini. The screen resolution is really outstanding and it's wonderful browsing the net on a larger, flat screen. Frankly, I was skeptical of the real usability of a phone this small, but it holds up. Texting is better than I thought, although I do prefer to use the stylus. And, the size is nice when you want to just throw this in your pocket and carry nothing else.

HI THE PHONE IS NOT GREAT BUT ITS NOT BAD IETHER ITS A CLONE OF THE APPLE I THE FIRST WEEK I GOT MINE THE VOLUME BUTTON FELL OFF AND I LOST IT THEN THE CHARGING POINT IS DODGY U SOMETIMES HAVE TO HOLD IT IN PLACE WHICH IS BAD AS THE HEADPHONES GO IN THERE ASWELL THE FM RADIO COMES ON BUT I GET NO RECEPTION AGAIN IT DID WORK FOR THE FIRST WEEK OR SO APART FROM THAT IT SEEMS TO BE OK OHH AND THE GAMES WHEN YOU DOWNLOAD A GAME FROM GAMES LOFT IT DOWNLOADS AND INSTALLS NO PROBLEM ITS WHEN YOU GO TO TRY AND PLAY IT IT GETS TO THE PART WHERE IT SAIS DO YOU WANT SOUND YES OR NO I HAVE TRED EVERYTHING IT JUST DOES NOT RESPOND TO ANYTHING SO YOU CANT GET THE GAMES ON WHICH IS SO FRUSTRATING IT HAS THE YES OR NO THERE SO YOU WOULD THINK JUST TAP THE SCREEN ON THE YES AND THATS THAT BUT NO IT DOES NOTHING BUT IF YOU JUST WANT TO USE IT FOR CALLS AND MESSAGING AND TO KID PEOPLE ON YOU HAVE AN IPHONE WELL YES IT LOOKS THE PART AND OVERALL ITS NOT TO BAD A PHONE THE FIRST WEEK WAS GREAT THATS NOT TO SAY THAT IT WILL HAPPEN WITH THEM ALL I MIGHT JUST HAVE A DUD JUST MY LUCK SO CHECK MORE REVIEWS B4 YOU DECIDE
