One of the best lenses out there

This lens perfectly complement my 70-200mm L IS f2.8, its essentialy its smaller brother.
The focusing is VERY fast when paired with my 7D, and the quality of the image top notch, even before post processing.
The lens is very well built, and feels like it will last many decades. The hood is very large, which can be a bit of a pain when transporting the lens, or if you are trying to blend in with the crowd, as it screams PRO, which some places dont like.
The large aperture allows you to shoot in very dark conditions, and the resulting bokeh absolutely gorgeous.
An essentially lens for any walk around/studio/wedding photographer.

I have a Canon 40D and purchased this particular Canon EF 28-70mm f/2.8L USM lens for its clarity and brightness and the extra versatility offered by the easily composed out-of-focus background it provides. A great further feature is the special effects of its macro range. It is also completely compatible with my Speedlite 580 EXII flash unit. Altogether a neat purchase.

Canon EF 24-70mm F2.8L

This lens lives up to its reputation. It is ruggedly built, high quality and nice to use. The AF is lightning fast and all the controls are standard for Canon. Images are pin-sharp and I cannot spot any significant distortion or CA. So, worth the money? Hmmmm, not sure but it is an awesome lens.

This lens is super sharp, even stopped down, full time manual focusing, very accurate (and adjustable on the right body) auto focus and has a great range.
The colours and contrast on this lens are just great, and it is built really solidly.
I use mine on a 7D, which has a 1.6x crop sensor; this makes this lens essentially 38mm-112mm (when compared to a full frame 35mm sensor). Because of this, if your only body is a "crop" body then I would recommend getting another lens also to cover the low-range. 38mm just isn't wide enough for me, so I also have a Tamron 10mm-24mm; and I find this compliments the 24mm-70mm very well, as there is no cross over and very little difference in the quality, colour, sharpness and overall feel of shots.
This is definitely a lens to keep on the camera at all times, ready to shoot.

I've been lugging around a number of lenses for a couple of years (EF17-40, EF28-135, EF 50 etc ) but this lens enables me to leave them at home and get really astounding pictures with this baby. Downside it's a little heavy but so were the others together. Strongly recommend
