Can't really fault this old Canon model for the money. Their product range is a bit of minefield with so many tweaked models to choose from...the MP492 produces high quality colour prints at a reasonable speed per minute even on its highest resolution setting. It is well worth spending time setting up the desired quality and resolution (dpi) in the settings first when photo printing. The only downside for me is the price of the consumables. Canon ink is not the cheapest but it's worth the extra for the high capacity ones PG 512 and CL 512.

Previously i was one of those people who had a printer & scanner as seperate units, this was on for a while but i wanted a system that was easy to use and took up less space!

having used a similar model of this printer i found it easy to use and print quality is impressive & swift, the scanner is very quiet and a couple of times i did wonder if it had actually moved!
Yes it is a cheaper printer than some on the market but it more than matches the higher end systems, looking for a reliable and cheaper system? give this a try!

I needed a new scanner & when I looked at the prices decided I might as well get an all in one & have a spare printer. I bought this model after reading other reviews & because the price was low. The one I bought wasn't the cheapest at first glance, but it included cables, inks etc., which made it the cheapest I found at about £40. It's better than I expected, I print alot of photos & have used this printer as apposed to my other for some of them. I would recommend it for normal family pics., but not high end quality.

this is a great printer from canon easy to use.
and has features that you can do and print without being connected to a computer.
