tried it immediately on my 450d, bounce is a great alternative and with a diffuser even better as a softer light is given. seems quite heavy at first pick up but so well balanced on the camera it becomes easier every shot. overall I am very pleased with the item, and can't see myself spending more on a similar flash i.e 580 etc just to get a faster recycle time etc. although I can see the need if you're a pro'

Superb flashgun, with excellent range, options and easy to use. The canon speedlite 430EX is a solid, very well made and qulaity flashgun.

) Brilliant lighting for all sorts of portraits. A top notch flash! Flashes of this type are best used with high quality rechargable batteries and make sure you carry spares for important events. A diffuser is also a good idea for certain situations.
Just buy it and you won't regret.
