Great entry-level scientific calculator.

I've always loved casio scientific calculators. The natural display on this one makes it easy to work with large equations containing multiple fractions and nested functions. This is a relatively basic model. If you need advanced functions like integration, differentiation, summations, complex numbers and the ability to solve equations using the Newton Rhapson methd, a more advanced model like the FX-991 ES will have these functions.
The thing is, the seller said "slightly used", but the previous owner scrawled over the lettering on the front cover with his biro, and the plastic has lots of small scratches that indicate that it was used quite hard! The calculator works perfectly though, and the price was very very low in fact, so I'm not complaining.

Casio FX-83ES Calculator

This calculator, from a students point of view is perfrect. A calculator can't do much more than this without infringing on the exams boards banned calculator list. It is the newer, updated version of the FX 83MS (also a good calculator).
The natural display function of the calculator is the best of the additions from the 83MS and is extreamly useful as it gives exact answers wherever possible. It took a couple of times using it to get used to switching from the natural display back to the normal display for when decimal places are needed, but this is not hard to pick up.
This calculator is ideal from Key Stage 3 all the way to A2 level of maths and would also be fine for every day use. It has a protective case for when it is not in use and an extensive manual explaining the different functions of the calculator.
Strong, nice looking and very well working calculator. Recommended.

Excellent Calculator

Has all the functions need for GCSE and A-Level. Very easy to use. I wasn't keen to buy a text-book entry calculator, but now I have used it I have come round to the idea. There is also the option to turn text book display off and use it like an older style scientific calculator.
I would definatley recomend this calculator.
