If a Credit Crunch Oscar existed, his DIY chutzpah would take the gong.

COLIN is a phenomenal achievement, with terrific special effects and some nice ideas.

Colin - The £45 Zombie film

Created: 05/05/11
Im a huge fan of all zombie movies, low budget or high and will always give them a couple of viewings before making my mind up on a movie.

Colin, well they were not kidding when they say they made if for £45 !! and it shows! but not for the reasons you might expect.

The story is ok, the acting is average and the effects were not too bad, but the camera work and lighting is just awful and left me with a headache and at times feeling a bit sick! im not kidding either!! i expected it to be gritty but not to the point that it was shot and lit by a 3 year old that could not hold a camera still to save his / her life, at times the scene is too badly lit that you squint to see whats going on and ruins the film.

If this film was shot by a decent lighting a camera crew it would be a hell of a lot better to watch, thank god i didnt pay a lot for this dvd!

being a big horror fan it seemed like a good buy, having seen thousands of horrors this is in my worst top three. it says on the cover the £45 movie! if that is what it cost then they were ripped off.the story if there is one is off colin being bitten by a zombie and then turning into one.you have around an hour and a half of somebody filming(badly) colin walking around the street and every now and then biting somebody in a realy uninteresting way. the first 40 mins is filmed indoors in the dark so all you see are shadows with the odd grunt or groan.please dont think i have been over critical of this film as ive actualy been very polite compared to what others thought of it. definately a no buy unless it is in the £1 bin and then only buy if you want to see how bad a 2008 horror can be!!!!

colin - zombie film

Created: 28/11/10
absolute garbage - it cost £45 to make and it shows - half of the film (it seemed like) would have benefitted from them spending an extra couple of pounds on a lamp or a torch or even a box of matches, anything to give some light - I thought my tv had broken, the picture was that dark I couldn't see what was going on. The Zombies in this film were so un-aggressive that my 9 year old could have walked away un-harmed. The ending was confusing because it looked as if one of the characters who had beed running around as a survivor actually died before we even met Colin (I may be mistaken - perhaps they were wearing the same clothes). It may have been meant to be "arty" or "film noir" or "thought provoking" I don't know. What I do know is that I was wondering how long until it finished less that half way through. Lets have more zombie killing and less zombie empathy.

For a £45 Movie it's Awesome - Don't get me wrong the film is not fantastic, if it had been a big release, loadsa money spent on it, it would be too slow n average, BUT due to budget-idea-decent acting, it's a must for any zombie movie fan!!!!!

Colin DVD Review

Made on the cheap, but full of great content and visuals, no CGI just good makeup.
Great for home video ideas. Not "Sean of the dead" (well dead cheap maybe) but still watchable, and let's face it, where else can you say you bought a film for 25% of the production cost?
