Hard, hard work... but a lot of fun!
I've owned fitness DVD's before & have found them to be repetitive, boring & uninspiring... & have, not surprisingly, very quickly lost interest.
This is the first 'celebrity' fitness DVD i've bought as i hate the whole celebrity culture thing & have refused to buy into it. However, i've read time & again how good Davina's workouts are & as celebrities go i don't mind her too much!
Firstly i want to say if you can't stand Davina (as i know many people can't) DON'T rule out this excellent DVD - one of it's extra's is a mostly music version with little vocal input from the lady herself!
This DVD is fantastic! The workouts are great & Davina & her trainers are really engaging. Davina isn't too proud to sweat or show when it's hard which is a real comfort when you feel like your own legs are about to fall off!
The workouts ARE hard... i'm very unfit & have struggled but throughout the sections you are shown 'easier' options to follow i.e stepping instead of jumping. You can do this long enough to catch your breath & then just join in again with the more intense exercises that Davina continues to follow when you're ready.
Although hard work the DVD is fun! That's why i've continued to push myself instead of giving up - as i would have done with a dull DVD. Davina & her trainers are really engaging & entertaining... & watching Mark doing the 'Cha Cha' steps in Warm Up had me in stitches! Watch it once but don't try to watch him whilst doing the exercises - you'll laugh too much to follow them!
I've only had the DVD a very short time & have already lost weight & noticed it's toning effect.
The best £12 i've spent in a long time!

Davina McCall - high energy five
Bought this dvd as my old one had a scratch on it from being used 4 times a week. Have to say I'm not a fan of Davina and was not expecting to like it but if you can get past her gurning and silly remarks this is DVD is brilliant. The DVD is split up into 5 sections, each lasting about 20 mins, cardio, arms, legs, abs and boxing. There is a separate warm up and cool down section.
I've been doing this for 4 months and have seen real results, found the abs section particulary effective and I love the boxing part. My stomach is much flatter and has more tone, I still don't look like Davina but then I'm sure she does much more exercise than this DVD and diets as well.
Mark and Jackie are her personal trainers and I find them very easy to watch - very low key but also really motivating. It is quite difficult but it does get easier and the routines are quite simple to follow. I can't say I'm mad about her choices of background music, but that's just my opinion.
I've tried some of the others such as Rosemary Conley and Hannah Waterman, but this one is definitely my favourite and have since bought another one of her DVDs. I would certainly recommend this if like me, you don't have the time or money to join a gym but want to do something. My kids join in as well now and know the routines almost as well as me.
Davina McCall - High Energy Five DVD
I bought this DVD because I have used Davinas DVD you use during pregnancy and I loved it. I have all of her DVDs now and this is my fav now. I love the fact that the warm up and cool down sections are seperate so you can just do whichever of the five sections you want without having to do seperate warm ups and cool downs with each one.
Davina really works you hard - but you can choose to do the easier moves. As you get used to the DVD and get fitter you will find you can move onto the arder moves without even realising!
If you find Davina annoying then you can also turn her voice off - although she doesnt annoy me, after doing the dvd a few times, the jokes wear off so just music is a good function.
Doing these DVDs has really increased my fitness in a relativly short amount of time. The pump section really does give you great arms! and the cardio intervally get a good sweat up and keep your heart pumping fast. I cant recommend this DVD enough to anyone who wants to tone up and lose weight.

Five different ways to sweat !
Not for the unfit, despite the fact that all routines have an easy and harder option. The warm up is a bit off putting but the Aerobics, pump, abdominals and boxing sections are brilliant. The Legs section had be going up and down the stairs on my bum for several days so it's one to ease into when you are really fit (and I work out every day !).
At times the dialogue is a bit annoying but for the most part not too bad.
From a fitness and fat burning point of veiw, my heartbeat recovery rates are so much faster now and I lost 6lb in three weeks without even planning to.
Worth the money and you can work as hard (or not) as you like. Great results, my second but no doubt not last Davina work out DVD.

Davina High energy five
I'm a Davina fan! this is the first one i bought of hers. I like it beacause its easy to follow, the music is fab and keeps you motivated. Davina uses her own personal trainers in the dvd and you can see the great connection between them all. for me Davina is a normal, busy, down to earth womam/mum with no heirs and graces, who justs whats to keep fit and look good for herself. Even thow i've done this many times, i still laugh at her little quotes or sayings. Its great fun and gives you lots of energy. car'nt wait for the next one.
