Dell Inspiron 1545 15.6" 2.2 GHz Laptop PC

Bought as a replacement for a faulty fujitsu seimens I had for 2 years. In the 12 months that I have had my dell I have had to have a techician out three times and have had to have the motherboard replaced twice. The cd drive, which is rarely ever touched, has broken and I am currently on my 4th charged. The speakers do not work properly and the entire bottom is due to be replaced due to the screws falling out. Since being looked at by the first Dell technician, my computer is now slow and tends to freeze a lot. I have also had to change my battery, at a (discounted) cost of £56!! I have been told by many computer experts and computer companies that battery life should be at least 18 months, however, I have owned this computer for only 12 months (from new). On the many times that I have had to ring the customer helpline, I have found the employee rude, dismissive, condescending and extremely unhelpful. Only once have I spoken to someone who was not. It is diffiult to ascertain the problem and get it fixed and you end up spending an hour on the phone. I have also been told on various occasions that I would be called back by Dell, all to no avail. Altogether, extremely disappointed and will NOT be purchasing a dell again, and would advise anybody considering it to think again and read all the bad press they have received.

This computer was bought to replace an aging desk top that was so slow it was doing my head in big time.
As I bought the Dell as a replacement for the desk top I was not sure how it would cope.
I did not have to worry as it is so so fast in everything it does,the screen is big enough for a desk top and for when I take it out of the office.
I am still over the moon with it two months after buying it.

Laptop is new,boxed and price was good ,so I bought this item!Why did I decide to buy it?Becouse I have been looking for Dell Inspiron 1545 (RED).I am happy for purchase!!!!

Bought this laptop with a known fault, ie: Touchpad had been disabled and owner could not get it back on. When I received the laptop the keyboard was locked would not work, nor would the pointer device and the webcam was not working. On checking the dell system info in the laptop I found it was still under warranty. Contacted dell had it collected and repaired at their expense. Laptop was returned fully restored and is an excellent laptop to use. Now has a new cover as well as new keyboard and palmrest/touch pad. Laptop is now as good as new.

I have to say the feel of the Dell Inspiron 1545 is fantastic.

- Smart and well made keyboard
- Wonderful screen size
- Works really well with windows 7

This laptop can have many different specks as to the budget you have.
I'd recommend getting a high processor as standard.

I've had no problems with it what so ever and Dell are know to be fairly reliable.
