I purchased the Dell U2311 to replace my old Acer TN panel. I always drive myself round the bend reading endless reviews of countless models, but I'm very pleased with my final choice.
I use it mostly for photo editing, using Adobe Elements. Colours and picture quality are excellent.

I bought this to replace my 22" Samsung 226BW as my main screen for gaming. Whilst the Samsung is still a great monitor, difference between the TN panel in that and the IPS panel in this is immense.
The image quality, colour accuracy and depth, adjustability, build quality and overall appearance of the Dell make the Samsung seem like an inferior product.
Not that it is, it's just miles behind the Dell in terms of what it can do.
My only complaint is that I would have preferred it to be 16:10 widescreen (1920 x 1200 pixels) instead of 16:9 (1920 x 1080).
But if you can get one for significantly less than the £200 for a new one snap it up because stocks are limited and the monitor will be superseded by an inferior model later this year - along with the rest of the Ultrasharp range.

Excellent piece of kit; I've just upgraded to this after using the Dell 2007W FP 20" (1680x1050, resolution fans) for about 4 years and it has the same solid build and total ease of setup. Excellent picture, which seems slightly better at grading through fine colour shading without banding even than the 2007WFP, and not a dead pixel in sight. The 1920x1080 resolution gives you quite a bit more screen real estate to play with, and while I've seen some people saying 16:10 is better for PCs I'm finding 16:9 to be just fine - and since this monitor can be had for £190 whereas the U2710 (Dell's 16:10 monitor, running at 1920x1200) seems to be nowhere less than £400, once you realise you can either get two of these for less than one U2710 or one of these and a large quantity of beer, it's no-contest time. Recommended without reservation.

I've been using this monitor for design work for a week now. Since then I've recommended it to several friends i the design and web development community. For the price I don't think it can be beat.
I've also used it for a little bit of gaming and again it has been great.
Very impressed!

Having ventured into serious photography recently, I wanted a monitor that allowed me good value on a budget for photo editing. The pro monitors are way out of my price range, and many forums recommended the Dell U2311H. I am happy to agree with them, for the money, there is no monitor in this price range to beat it. If you want to play games or watch movies, choose something else, but if your looking to dip your toe into the world of photo editing and want a truly brilliant monitor, buy on of these.
