Captivating songs laced with electronica, trip-hop and rock combine effortlessly with the singer/songwriter's sultry vocals to create a fresh sounding, vibrant release. Tracks like "Don't Think of Me," "All You Want," and "Thank You," are strong and powerful but never overwhelming. There are also some more ambient-type cuts, such as "My Lover's Gone" and "Here With Me," where swirling, airy sound textures envelop the song. Throughout NO ANGEL, Dido's melting vocals enfold the listener. Disarming cuts like "Honestly OK," "My Life," and "I'm No Angel," are immediately engaging. The album also includes a bonus track, "Take My Hand."

Simply Outstanding Atmospheric Music

Created: 19/11/07
Beautiful, simply beautiful
Dido first appeared on a music scene backing a most unlikely candidate Enimen - on Stan, remember the haunting female vocals in the chorus? Well Dido is the lady on sang on there,

Having seen her live, I thought the CD would pale by comparison, but it still has the same punch as the live shows (and if you haven't seen her live - go!),

A combination of slow smoochy tracks, ideal when you need a good cry to some uptempo beats this CD has Here with Me as it's opening track and then 10 further tracks, at just over an hour long, time flies when listening to this CD.

I still think No Angel, track 10 is possibly the best track on this CD.

I loved it, with a real mix of music tastes (see my other reviews) I initially thought it would be mediocre and only a couple of songs which I liked, but in reality it has become one of the most played Cd's in my collection

Happy listening
Suz xx

Dido - No Angel (UK Edition) [ECD] (CD 2001)

Created: 29/05/08
Any iconic song a romantic comedy film from the beginning of the century probably owes its roots to this album. The first 3 songs are absolutely brilliant, and the album has a rare quality that each and every song is good to listen to.

This is an album not about love, but about the flipside and while there may have been many a "Bridget Jones" moment for women feeling let down after a failed relationship, or from them having thier heart stomped on - slumping home and listening to this with a large glass of white wine, it is relatable to all (male and female alike).

Songs like "Dont Think", "Here with me" and "Thank you" have taken up plenty of airtime on radio and TV, so that tells you all that you need to know.

Dido Original UK Edition

Created: 03/01/09
I decided to buy this product because mine got destroyed and id love to have all Dido's cds as my collection as well, but it doesnt need to be a new one since i had it before. I like this album the most probably because its the first album and after i got to hear all the songs, then i knew thats a kind of music i like. Her styles of music are exotic and chill out. And it makes it more special to get this CD which is uk edition cos it probably cant be found out there in other countries and since shes english, so thats original.

This is great background music for those summer barbeques
Its also great for lovesick people to sing along to when feeling sorry for themselves.
It is a great album and is listenable over and over again, then you may decide
its better not to be lovesick anymore!
Dido has a great recording voice but it is not so strong or vibrant live in concert, so the album is a better option.
