Drop Dead Fred (DVD 2004)

I bought Drop Dead Fred on DVD from Ebay because I have loved this film sinse i was young and have always wanted to be able to watch it again but could never find it.

The film as a whole is amusing, easy to follow and gripping, and follows the stroy of Elizabeth and her 'imaginary friend' Fred. Elizabeth has to overcome her demons in order for Fred to leave her alone. Although by the end, she doesnt want him to go! (always the way).

There is nothing to dislike about this film, it is full of fun the whole way through, and lets face it, nothing starring Rik Mayall can be boring, can it?

Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.

this film was my childhood favorite and for the sellers bargain price i just had to grab it.
rik mayall gives a 'bottom like' performance in this hilarious film.
when elizabeth loses her husband,job,money and car all in the same day, her childhood imaginary friend drop dead fred.
a truly side splitting film which at times is also a tear jerker.
highly recomended.

i love this dvd its great i used to have it on video when i was younger and it got broke there for i brought this dvd and i love it also going to let my son watch it but hopefully he wont have a drop dead fred lol so really happy with the dvd

I bought this DVD because I remember liking it when I was younger and thinking it was really funny! I thought my kids would think it was funny. Well I have now stopped them from watching it as from a parents point now, it is not so funny, My dear twin boys decided to decorate my bathroom with all the cleaning products and cosmetics from my cupboards! and when I asked them why on earth did they do it! they replied Drop Dead Fred did it! so Fred is a gonna now! I was speechless when I saw the mess, my mother reminded me that my sister and I had done the same, What goes around comes around!
