Epson Stylus Color 1520 Wide Format t InkJet Printer
Created: 21/01/11
The Epson Stylus 1520 printer was first produced around 2002 and is a sturdy and well built piece of equipment. When first shipped, there are several paper-handling guides & trays which give flexibility for all sizes of media up to A2. At the rear, there is a tractor feeder for banners etc..
Print quality is good when set to the best available. There are many software controlled options when setting up the print job - Full info available here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/ProductQuickSpec.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Specs&oid=10201&category=Products
The writer has had three of these printers over the years and found them reliable and economical. Ink cartridges (one black & one colour) are inexpensive.
The Epson 1520 is relatively heavy because of its size, but this does mean it is rugged.
PC connection is through the Parallel Port, this requires the purchase of a USB to Parallel adapter for for users but these are easily available from online stores & auction sites and take only a few minutes to install - A good investment.
Recommended purchase if you need up to A2-sized printing and have space for it

The quality is great, and when you think how much A2/A3 printers cost this was a snip ! You can't get a Vista driver, so I just transfer stuff to my old XP machine to print. Simple !
