EvoDigitals TS16 (16 GB) Digital Media Player

If you are reading this thinking 5 out of 5 for design and then realise it has no phone, camera or other iProducts on it then you need to read no further. For those who don't want iProducts, but want a very good touch screen player this is an excellent choice. Battery life is really good and went on for hour after hour without any drop in performance. Video playback was smooth and with TV out it looked good even played back on a 42" plasma TV.

Video playback, MP3 playback, games, records sound, has all the extras like calender like you'd expect for under £45. The photo playback is excellent quality. The manual isn't too descriptive so a few trial and errors in picking formats is needed (video as Xvid at 480 pixel works fine as does mpg 1 & 2, above this size it shows as invalid format) and you can only change the background picture to one on the player's own ROM, but then what the background image is really isn't important or anything to get precious over. TV out when playing a video needs the play bar on screen and the icon of a TV pressed, the manual doesn't state this but I found it out easy enough.

Next you get a micro SD card reader in the bargain as when plugged in the UBS port it reads the card. Capacity says 16gb but I tried a 32gb card in it and it read fine. The player also will read txt documents so you can simply copy electronic books into txt format and read them.

The best thing I found with this player is no iTunes, no iStore required, no drivers or discs needed. Simply drag n drop, send to, or copy and paste your files over, press play on the touch screen and off you go. It has TV out and an internal speaker built in so you can share music with freinds as well.

If you're looking for a well priced touch screen media player for yourself or for a child without being locked into other software, having multitudes of applications chewing up your PC and are looking for style, design, simplicity and quality at an affordable price this player has it all and more in the bargain.

Very good player, plays many formats without conversion, but not HQ FLVs (off YouTube), good battery and crisp clear display, sound also quite good considering small size of player. Touchscreen is easy to use as long as you don't have fat fingers as it's not very sensitive. Most of the 16GB is available for storage and user interface is simple to use and navigate.

Very impressed with sound quality and volume, a nice compact unit which I have stored my entire cd collection on, 150cd,s which takes 6.7gb of the 16gb storage,backing the unit with a small set of speakers makes an ideal substitute for the hi-fi.Battery lasts well,although I must admit I usually use this at the weekends only.It makes i-tunes a very expensive toy and I am glad I went the way i did and consider #45 a good investment
