Editorial Reviews
Aardman has turned out a gloriously droll comic adventure that combines British wit with Yankee exuberance.
Hollywood Reporter

The first computer-animated feature to come from Aardman Animations is filled with exuberant and infectious silliness.

Mind What You Flush!!

I am not sure why, but the advertising for this film appealed to me and not having children I waited for the dvd!! Anyway, babysitting the other night and took it along and we enjoyed it very much... I would throughly recommend this film for children of all ages and for light-hearted entertainment for my generation - I am sure that my old Mum will enjoy it too... The film follows Rodney (Hugh Jackmann), a pampered pet mouse, when he accidentally gets flushed while his owner is away following a visit from sewer rat Syd (Shane Ritchie)... In the sewers Rodney finds an entire city populated by mice, rats, frogs, toads and singing slugs!! A James Bond style adventure follows when Rodney meets characters voiced by amongst others Sir Ian McKellen and Bill Nighy.. Then we have heroine and potential love interest, the feisty Rita voiced by Kate Winslet... There are lots of extras including interviews from the film Premiere and a Singing Slug Jukebox!! Happy Viewing!!

The story is about a pampered rat named Rodney who lives in posh Kensington in London but then suddenly finds himself flushed away to the sewers and an underground world of ninja frogs, hench-rats and hilarious singing slugs. The animation is marvellous, and the attention to detail sublime, check out all the things the rats use to create their own version of London, very clever. Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Sir Ian McKellan, Andy Serkhis, Shane Ritchie et al provide the voices and are all brilliant. The story although good is I feel a little slow in places, hence the four stars and not five, but having said that, this movie will appeal to children and the child in us all. I definitely recommend this movie though, its great fun.

this is not the best animation out there, but it is funny,it is worth the money, from dreamworks and aardman (wallace and gromit team).

the storyline is roddy a pampered rat, left alone why his family are on vacation, has a visit from sid the sewer rat, who then makes himself at home and refuses to move, and roddy gets flushed down the sewers, where he meets rita, captain of the jammie dodger, who tries to help him get back home.

it has a good strong cast voice including kate winslet, andy serkis, shane ritchie and hugh jackman.

negative: felt the storyline could have been a bit better.
positive: full length animation, nice characters.

The cartoon feature film of the year???? Not quite, but still its well worth a watch, even if it's just for the kids. Its the visual gags in this movie that does set it above most animated films, something Aardman are good at. Hugh jackman voice over is slighty camp, and works perfectly for the star of the movie Roddy. you do see that James bond had some influnece on the main character.
Kate winslet, well you can take it or leave with her character, anyone could of pulled that one off, just a little under acted. but at the end of the day this is a enjoyable childrens movie, that the rest of the family can enjoy to.

This computer-animated feature, directed by David Bowers and Sam Fell, explores a whole new world under London. A pet mouse named Roddy St. James (voiced by Hugh Jackman) is pretty much spoiled rotten. His owners live in a chic Kensington apartment, and Roddy has everything he could possibly want--except friends and a family. Everything changes for Roddy when his owners go away for a few days and their flat is invaded by a common rat, Sid (Shane Richie). Determined to reclaim his apartment and boot out the intruder, Roddy tries to talk Sid into enjoying the apartment "Jacuzzi," which is actually the toilet. But Sid is smarter than he looks, and soon Roddy is traveling down the pipes out of his sheltered life into a world that he never knew existed.
