Fujifilm FinePix S2950 14.0 MP Digital Camera - Black (Kit w/ 90mm Lens)

Excellent little camera, good to handle with intuitive buttons, strikingly clear photographs, doesn't feel cheap and tacky but solid and well constructed. I wasn't sure what to go for and had even looked at Leicas but not being a camera buff, thought an expensive, complicated thing would frustrate me and I'd be out of my depth so went for this one instead and glad I did. I prefer the AA batteries instead of all the leads and charging kit that some other makes have, which means you can use it straight from the box. I like the viewfinder and lcd screen - they give you the option - altogether very pleased with the buy, on account it was also very competitively priced at around £120.00, glad I went for it rather than a slab digital which I find too small to hold still. This one has a good grip, the controls are easy to understand and not too fiddly. I've had digital cameras before, a Fuji funnily enough although found it too small, whereas this one is a kind of halfway house between a slab digital and an SLR, having the advantages of both, although doesn't slip in your pocket but for someone like me who does not take a camera out with him every day, it hardly matters. It's not that hot on the macro stuff, but great for taking snaps of animals, plants, landscapes, faces. I'm happy to recommend it.

The zoom is very quick and quiet compared to other cameras I have had. The panoramic feature is very easy to use and produces excellent pictures. Used the sports function when photographing my dogs playing and took some superb movement shots when other cameras would have blurred them. I've used mainly the Auto function as the camera chooses the best options for me and still produces lovely quality photo indoors with poor light and not much noise on the photo. I haven't used the video function so can't comment on that yet.

Overall extremely pleased with quality of the shots taken so far. Real value for money for those wanting photographer quality shots on a budget.

The camera is brilliant it takes beatiful pictures, and with excellent quality... Good valued of money... With this camera is a way to make people want to take pictures of everything.

I think the S2950 is just about the best bridge camera around.
It has that many features on it, it will take months perhaps years to get to used them all. With preprogrammed settings for scenes, point and shoot is a doddle. I have only used video once but the result was as good as some dedicated and expensive camcorders. If anyone is looking for a cheap bridge camera with long optical and digital zoom (no expensive lenses to purchase) this is the on. I highly recommend it.

A feature packed camera that is somewhat let down by its picture quality, although I am more used to a digital SLR with high quality lenses.
It packs a lot into a small package but some features are not really all they should be, 10fps would be marvellous if the AF could keep up.
If you want a fairly small camera that will cover most situations to a degree this will do, but I can't help feeling I would have been better off losing a few "features" and getting a compact that will fit in my pocket.
