HTC Desire S - 1.1GB - Black (Unlocked) Smartphone

The phone looks great in both the shape and style of the body, and the OS itself.

The phone is easy to relatively easy to use, with easy to navigate menus, helpful tools that can be added to each of its seven desktop screens, and a quick access menu which can be pulled down from the top bar.

The quality of the screen is excellent. It has an highly responsive and accurate touch screen; It is easy to click links on web pages, even when zoomed right out. The screen is large and sharp, and though it has a slightly lower resolution than an iPhone, you won't notice the difference.

Being an Android based phone, it has Adobe Flash installed, and an excellent internet browser (which beats Safari hands down), along with the ability to multi-task.

The battery life is however a problem. In standy-by it is fine, however browsing the internet (especially with Wi-Fi), running apps, or just having the screen on really drains the battery. It is possible to run down half the battery in 2 or 3 hours of use.

Aside from the battery, it is excellent all round. Would give it a 4.5/5

HTC has produced a whole raft of great smartphones over the years with its more recent Android models picking up our recommended awards like they were free memory sticks at a tech trade show. Its latest offering is the HTC Desire S that doesn't pack in a headline grabbing dual-core processor, fancy camera, or ginormous screen but is a beautifully made, classy smartphone that should be high on your wish list.

When i bought this phone a friend of mine told me that i wouldnt like it but from the time i got it in my hands its for sure the best phone ive ever had. Its very easy to handle all those apps and it has so many functions that you can litterally do whatever you want with it. Everything runs smoothly and really fast and the only thing that you can say its not perfect it is the battery life, even though no phone i know of does better.In my opinion its one of the best phones in the world if not the best. Working very good. I hate that you can not stream youtube videos, while being on another program. The phone could be much better with a task manager. It should include more keyboard layouts, like Latvian to make the typing much easier.
The GPS system is little bit messed up, maybe the maps are not up-to-date and thats why I have some small issues with the GPS. HTC sense rocks, it is syncing all your contact, really cool.

I bought the Desire S to replace my old RAZR. It is simple to use straight out of the box and can be easily customised. I love the screen - very bright and clear. It even doubles as my bedside alarm clock at night with the extra dock I bought.

I was worried about the battery life as a lot of people seemed to complain about that when I looked through the reviews. My experience is that it can last 2 days on a charge with light use (couple of calls and some web browsing via wifi) and even with heavy use it always lasts the day. Not as good as my old RAZR which would typically last for a week, but no worse than any other android phone.

Haven't found anything I don't like about it yet.
