Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince: Children's Edition by J. K. Rowling (Hardback, 2005)

I read this book in soft cover shortly after it was published and have now read all of JKR's tomes.
They are an interesting read and move along apace. they are somewhat dark as in all good V's evil books but still retain a childlike charm and naivety.
A good set of books that needed to come along when they did before literature died a death. No where near the sheer quality and brilliance of Tolkiens works but then again he was a very very special author.
I bought this book because it was a first edition, it will go with my other collection of first editions and will not be literary out of place.

i totally loved reading this book and all the harry potter book series and i think its amazing that these books our great reads for childeren and dult's alike

Quite a funny start but it all gets darker as we are treated to a deeper look at the enemy and his tactics as we are drawn into the life of Voldemort and his beginnings. I am always shocked at the things Voldemort does and this book really fleshes him out and gets you to believe a person so evil exists. I had already guessed from the first book that a certain character had to die - to make things far more dangerous and uncertain, not just for Harry but for everyone within this world - but was shocked at how it came about. I found myself absorbed within minutes and couldn't put it down until I finished. The book is brilliant and I recommend it for everyone.

Another episode in Harry's wizard school, another page-turner!
This book will captivate the young and old, and 1000 times better for action packed suspense that watchng the movie.

Haven't read the book yet but love the movie. Always interested in getting the book collection and seeing what differences there are between books and movies
