Product description

Product Information
A rear-driven, self-propelled lawn mower, the Hayter Harrier 48 Push Mower comes fitted with a 190cc Briggs and Stratton 650 Series engine. Its self-propelling system is adjustable, meaning the Hayter Harrier 48 Push Mower can move itself forward at speeds between 1.5 and 3 mph, depending on the user’s preference. Measuring at 19.9 x 59.4 x 42.5-inch, this Hayter mower can fit into a tightly packed area with relative ease. When storing this self-propelled lawn mower for an extended period of time, the handle breaks down into two pieces, taking up less space. With an overall cutting width of 18.9-inches, the Hayter Harrier 48 Push Mower focuses more on agility and ease of use than cutting large areas in little time. Furthermore, on the side of this feature-packed tool is a counterbalanced lever that allows the user to adjust its cutting height to any of the seven adjustments between 0.51-inches and 2.36-inches. This Hayter mower also comes with an 18-gallon-capacity grass bag on its rear, which the user can remove to allow grass to discharge. With its compact size and well-known engine supplier, the Hayter Harrier 48 Mower is the right option for those with a smaller yard or for someone who is looking for a mower designed for hard-to-reach areas.

Hayter Harrier 48 (Power Drive)

Created: 08/08/10
This is a top quality mower with "Ready Start", which means it starts first pull, power drive and variable speed drive, which means you can vary the speed of the power drive without changing the cutter speed. In fact the cutter speed is preset. The 48cm blade means that you can get the job done done faster and the large grass collector means that I don't have to stop to empty it till I'm finished. The overall size was a little bigger than I expected but I managed to collect it in my car - just!

I needed a new mower and this was a real bargain although the description was incorrect even after an attempt was made to correct it. A suitable deal was struck but you should always be aware that sometimes the seller gets it wrong.

Hayter Harrier 48 Mower

Looked a bit tatty and didn't start when I went to pick it up, however,it was all in one piece, just missing the bag attachment. I changed the oil on the relibale briggs and stratton 4 stroke engine, new air filter, new gasket to carb, new and correctly gapped spark plug, adjusted the throttle cable, oiled all the moving parts, sharpened the blade, bought a new grassbag and frame for it (£60ish) from very helpful guys at Archway Mowers in Windsor, downloaded the manual beforehand, and after a final clean up it's as good as those selling for 3 or 4 times the amount I paid. Well worth the effort. The money I spent would have obnly bought me a cheap and nasty mower for new. A little bit of TLC and I have a well designed fully functioning mower that leaves stripes and self propels for a fraction of the £900 they cost new. :o)

Great

Recommend Hayters for lawnmowers. Have used other makes, & this is my first Hayter, albeit a 2nd hand one. Important to have a reliable mower, since grass grows quickly in spring/summer. Costs more to deal with long grass rather than regularly cut with a regular reliable machine.
