I have a Seagate 1TB external drive which is used for both media storage and a back up for my 2 desktop pc's "my documents". This drive is fast becoming full and I suddenly realised if this drive goes "pop" I stand to lose one hell of a lot of data. Shopped around and came across this Touro drive.
First thing that impressed was the lack of having to use a wall socket power supply, this drive powers itself from USB connection.
It has been connected to 3 different desktop PC's running windows xp (usb 2) and self installs and runs smoothly and efficiently.
It is completely silent and runs with no recognisable heat issues as can be a problem with other external drives.
Data transfer speed is good but would really benefit from being linked to a USB 3 socket (up to 5GBS)
Overall very pleased, small slim design, no external power supply, fast data transfer, all round 5/5

I noticed the HDD disconnects when you bend the cable in a certain way, but requires a rough handling. It may just be mine having a slightly loose USB port.
Besides that, GREAT BUY!!! I recommended it to 3 friends and they bought already!
I only use for backup, so I only ever need it when I got new data to backup. But maybe I'll buy another one for my XBOX360! Dunno if it'll be compatible, but i'll definitely try it out sometime...

I bought this item, as I needed a small size and big capacity additional HDD without need of connecting it to power source. This item receives power straight from the USB. There is nothing that I dislike about this item, it's the fastest and quietest spinning HDD I have ever owned. High ending design makes this item worth trying and buying. And it has 1TB capacity!

Purchased from DABS, and the price was just too good to let it pass by. The drive is fast, small and quiet, and I use it for storing a backup of my personal data and music collection.
The only thing to note is that it is USB3, so the cable supplied is USB3, which has a slightly different end that plugs into the drive. So you cannot use this cable with non USB3 devices. Can be a slight problem if you leave cables all over the place!

Remembering, of course, that one 2.5 in external drive is enough for anyone to carry around and not on business, along with maybe two, maybe three 3.5 inch ones, for use on the desk, that one has proved, so far to be very good. Great performance, but maybe a trifle high on cost.
I would recommend, friend and foe alike.
