Huawei Technologies E586 21.6 Mbps Wireless N Router

This is the latest in mifi dongles from Huawei; essentially it captures a 3G signal and converts it to Wi-Fi. The advantage to laptop users is that unlike USB dongles you do not need a physical connection to the computer and you can place the unit near a window or other location where you can get a strong signal. Of course if you have a tablet without a SIM slot and without a USB connection this is the only way to connect to the Internet once you are out of range of Wi-Fi.

The unit's immediate predecessor was the E5838; the main difference is that the status lights on the old model are replaced with a much more informative mini screen and higher maximum speeds can be achieved. Most of the units offered on eBay in the UK will be locked to the 3 network, which happens to have the best data service at the moment. You will also find on eBay a number of vendors who will unlock the device for you so that you can use any 3G service including those abroad.
As with any 3G data service actual performance depends heavily on the availability of nearby data cells.

a must buy if u live in areas with poor, unreliable internet connection... small and easy to carry, good to use both at home and at the office! connects to different devices: laptop, tablet, etc... Good speed... recommend both product and seller!!

i bought this for my parents who are in their 70's because it was a way for them to get broadband without having to get it installed in their house and have to get involved with a contract and talking jargon down the phone with ISP providers.

The unit is simple to use with a single button for on-off and a second button to give the network id and password. We used it over the last 4 days and had no problems. Of course you must be in a reception area of 3 to use it.

A brilliant purchase if you live in a rural location, move around the country a lot or just want to get away from home broadband contracts. The device has really good connectivity and brings broadband speeds to a location that was relying on dial up speeds before!!! For the average home the E586 is probably all you need i mean who regularly uses more than 5 wifi devices at once anyway? but out of curiosity i turned everything i had with wifi on them on and the E586 handled all 6 with no lagging problems at all. 5/5 isn't high enough really i give it 10/5. You want regret owning one of these devices.
