much easier to use than most VCR's and no more tapes to buy

Got tired of having to manually set up VCR after the digital switch-over and was no longer able to watch one programme while recording another. Bought this PVR on the basis of a good review in Which? mag. Needed an RF modulator to work with my old CRT telly but once this was connected all was well. Humax is great: record two different programmes simultaneously while watching a third, easy-peasy recording set up, pause, slow mo, advert skip etc. These are normally around £180 new.

I love this machine. I had the PVR 9150 for several years and never had any problems, and have now changed to the 9300 for the bigger hard-drive. In my opinion Humax is the best manufacturer of these boxes by a mile, having had a couple of other makes before my first Humax box. It's important though that you keep the software up to date. Check on http://www.dtg.org.uk/industry/download_schedule.php for the next scheduled update for your model. You can either leave the unit in standby during this time or go to the 'search for software update' in your menu. The software your machine should be running can be found at http://www.humaxdirect.co.uk/checksoftwareversion.asp

The Rolls Royce of freeview recorders.

Excellent recorder with very large library capacity. EPG is a lot faster to load these days and video and audio is 1st class. Easy to record a program or a series with no missed episodes to report. The manufacturer unlike others does update their software over the air regularly. Nice touch having the clock in view when in standby. Only drawback is the remote control where a lot of the buttons are concealed by a slide cover, a bit confusing for a casual user, although this cover can be removed and kept seperately.

The Humax is the best Freeview recorder on the market.

The Humax is the easiest to set up and operate, and the most reliable Freeview PVR available, and the technical and customer service directly from Humax is excellent. The 9300T is the bigger of the two Humax terrestial signal machines and I bought it to complement a 9200T which I have had for over three years and which I have now moved to another TV reception room. The 9300T is servicing my main 40" Sony Bravia HDTV and they compliment each other beautifully.
I have used other makes of PVRs in other people's premises whenever I have had the opportunity, and I have heard of breakdowns of other makes and the respective customer services. Without any doubt the Humax is the best.

The good thing about Humax is that it copes well with interference in the digital service providing a continuous picture and sound over cheaper products.
