Humax PVR9150T (160 GB) Receiver

great freeview recorder, 160gb gives you 100hours of recording time which is plenty as you would delete anything you have already watched, very very simple to use. the only disadvantage is that it hasnt got the option of connecting a HDMI Cable unless you get a scart to hdmi cable or converter.
however the quality is fantastic. very quiet, love the fact you can reccord 2 things at once and still play back something you have already recorded or you r restricted to watching one of the recorded channels, series link is very useful. love the double screen option watch 2 channels at the same time, would recommend, Humax are the closest spec you r going to get to HD x.

I bought the Humax PVR for £95 and have to say it is a bargain. It is easy to use and works perfectly recording 2 programmes at once etc. The faults that I read about are true but nothing more than minor gripes; yes the manual is not very clear, the remote control is a bit old fashioned and the scheduler is not as good as the one on my tv. As I said these are things to be expected in a budget product, but the major features of the product work brilliantly well. I also read a report of the fan being noisy, and agree that if it was in a bedroom could be a problem, but it only comes on when the machine switches on and only lasts for about 10 seconds (it is also much quiter than the fan on my Nintendo Wii), so I can not see this causing the vast majority of users a problem. So, if you are looking for an inexpensive PVR I would definitely recommend.

This appears to be a cut down vesion of the PVR9200 model.
Tastefully remodelled in a slimmer, lighter black case in lacks the LED display on the front panel. Some people will not miss this , but I find a display most useful. Also ommitted is the USB socket which allows you to archive recordings to your PC. Again no lost if you don't need these facility.
Otherwise a very good Freeview PVR.

Only had this for a few days now, but really like it. The ability to record one channel while watching makes this product stand out as it seems most boxes won't allow you to do this. It's also very easy to record, just one click and it's done. The other nice thing is that you can not only pause live TV, you can also rewind up until the point you started watching. So if someone comes in the room later and you want to show something you've just watched you can rewind what you've been watching and show them! This happens automatically, you don't have to set it to do this.

Thought it was time I came into the 21st century and also to get the kids off my back so I bought this recorder. It works well and easy to use. Installation was very easy.You wont go far wrong buying one of these.
