Designed for high-capacity Internet, video streaming, and multimedia applications, the IBM 20 GB hard drive is one of a line of heavy-duty hard drives that can be used in the home or office, or even on the road in mobile devices. Tested technologies like the IBM Drive Fitness Test, TrueTrack Servo, Self Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology come together in the IBM TravelStar 40GN to form a high-performing, fast solution to heavy data flow within a system. This internal hard drive can hold up to 20 GB of data with a spin rate of up to 4200 RPM. The IBM 20 GB hard drive features an external data transfer rate of 100 Mbps with a buffer size of 2MB and a seek time of 12 ms, making each command action quick and efficient for users. This IBM TravelStar 40GN includes AFC Media, GMR technology, an ATA-100 interface for smooth transitions, and a battery life extender. This internal hard drive is fully compatible with most PC computer systems. The IBM 20 GB hard drive is 1 cm (0.4 inches) high, 7 cm (2.8 inches) wide, 10 cm (4 inches) deep, and weighs 0.1 kg (0.2 lbs).
