Intel Pentium 4 - 3 GHz (SL6WK) Processor

As computers become older and getting towards being outdated, its always wise to remember that the second hand value of parts also starts dropping. Which means that instead of buying that brand new machine that will cost you hundreds of pounds, you can now buy those parts that you could not afford initially and speed up or improve the performance of the machine that you already have and extend the life expectancy of it. Of course there will be a time when the machine you have is pretty rare because of the age of it and that parts become very hard to get hold of, and of course become expensive again. Which means in that case it would be cheaper to buy new and dispose of the old one sensibly. But thats just like life, its knowing when and where to change and to get the balance right. And that is the reason I bought this processor, in order to improve the machine I have and extend its life while getting value for money.

I BOUGHT THE PROCESSOR TO REPLACE AN EARLIER SLOWER MODEL. THE PROCESSOR ARRIVED WELL PACKAGED BUT WITH A BENT PIN, OUT CAME THE PLASTIC TWEEZERS AND I FITTED THE CPU. I USED IT FOR 1 DAY LEFT GOOD FEEDBACK, WENT AWAY FOR 2 WEEKS AND CAME BACK. USED THE COMPUTER FOR 2 HOURS ONLY TO FIND THE CPU RUNNING VERY HOT. AFTER REFITTING THE CPU AND ADDING A BETTER COOLER I TOOK IT OFF AND PUT MY OLD ONE BACK ON. THE NEW CPU HAD PROBABLY BEEN PREVIOUSLY OVERCLOCKED! TEST ANYTHING BOUGHT ON EBAY PROPERLY BEFORE LEAVING FEEDBACK.

This product was to replace a 2.6ghz Celeron and the difference is quite noticeable. It was easy to fit and has made a positive impact on the use of my PC. Would definitely recommend!

It is not always the case though...

Sometimes, even though one has little extra time in ones hands, might have this urge to mend stuff, to make broken things work again, to set things straight!!!
