not as good as it looks
Created: 13/11/10
Very compact and portable size. However the lack of an optical zoom hinders this item alot. It doesn't fare well in poor light either,( not a very good lux rating, pity not mentioned in product description) more or less works in daylight only. It certainly doesn't perform any better than most mobile phone cameras.
Overall, if you are looking for a functional camcorder that performs well all round then avoid this one.
The only good things about this camera are it's compact size and it's looks...
For the price of the item I guess I shouldn't expect any better.

Very small and compact, you can fit this in your pocket. Full 1080p video, also does 720p and VGA/WVGA. 8MP stills!
Not very good in low-light but none of these small cameras are! Great video in day light and OK sound! Very good value for money if you're after a video camera that you can take everywhere! Hold it like a mobile phone, very comfortable to use.
5/5.

Spec good but operation and sofware poor
Created: 10/11/10
Overall, it takes acceptable photographs on the 8meg camera and the HD video is better than most. However, the operation buttons are poor with little tactile response. It's light too, so it feels a bit plasticky and fragile. Who knows how long it will take the rough and tumble of life. After a week it's looking scruffy. The editing software is really were it lets you down though. It’s not good at all. Obviously, there plenty of video editing packages out there, so you'll have to budge in a further £30-60 for that. On the plus side, good quality pics and not bad sound. It’s a really good price at £60.00 and it’s small enough to cart about in the top pocket of a jacket. Battery life is untested, but as it’s a USB recharge, it makes for an easy life. Overall; worth a punt at the price but be prepared to bugger about on the software front and you'll get there in the end.

JVC GC- FM1 Picsio Camcorder
Created: 14/10/10
This HD (1080P)SD memory card camcorder from JVC is great as a quick get out your pocket camcorder that you can start filming with in 2 seconds from switching on.
I have a 8 gig memory card in mine which gives approx 1hr 15min of full 1080p recording, and the internal battery will last about this time if filming only, this is greatly reduced if watching any play back on the 2" screen.
However it also records in 720p,and VGA which will double the filming time in VGA only ,and QVGA which will give you 17 hrs instead of 1hr.
Also one thing i did find odd was when testing how long the battery would last i found that it only records for 29 mins at a time if left, which means if you wont to record for say 1 hour you would have to re start it after 29 mins again, not a problem for most people i would imagine.
It comes with a USB lead and lead to connect to your TV vier the red ,yellow and white jack plugs, but if you wont to view in full 1080P high def then you need to bye a HDMI to mini HDMI lead at a cost of between £12 - £19.
Its got some kind of buld in stabalization but its not very good if you move around to quick.
The 8meg pix camera takes good qulity photos just like most phones.
It also comes with pre loaded software to upload direct to youtube and Itunes.
In a nut shell cheep full 1080P HD pocket camcorder, well worth getting HDMI lead if you wont to watch any play back in full HD.
