LG BD650 Blu-Ray Player

I purchased this product because I needed something which could play a wide variety of discs and video files but without the large price tag many others have. This player does all of these things excellently and more. The picture quality is crystal clear with brilliant colours (even with regular DVD's due to the upscaling feature - I have used it with an HDMI cable). It looks fantastic and its compact size means it can fit in small TV units. It works even better with an LG TV as you can use the included remote to control both, and it automatically switches input when you turn it on.

I have seen many other players priced much higher which do not have the features of this player, and even if they did they would struggle to do them better. Delighted with it!

Well, neither of the 2 BD650's i recieved worked unfortunately. Never again would i purchase something that is branded as 'manufacturer refurbished'

Anyway, here's my thoughts. The player itself is quite small and compact and complimented my LG TV quite nicely on the stand. The front end menu for the player is fairly idiot proof, you get 4 icons data, music, video and photo. allowing you to see the various contents of your cd/dvd/usb drive. Fairly straight forward. The remote control lets it down alot, it feels really cheap and tacky. Buttons have to be pressed multiple times before they are recognised, not good. playback of Dvd's and Blurays was faultless. Disk load speeds werent an issue. Chapter skips were smooth and fast. the fast forward worked nicely. I didnt get to test playback via the usb because the ports were broken on both players.
It would be a good choice of player if you wanted a unit that came without all of the smartapps, that are becoming very common on current bluray players. But for saying that these units are currently retailing for around £149 new... you may as well buy something newer and cheaper.

Right so the reason i bought the product was purely based on the fact i was looking for a cheap bluray player and this one came up as the cheapest i could find on BuyItNow so i bought it.

The picture is excellent, it has a nice clean menu interface to use, the player itself looks pretty clean and smart all in all not a bad player at all.

The things i'm not 100% happy with are as follows it did have a problem reading a region 2 disc which was abit unsuspected but that maybe down to the fact it was scratched or something also my only other jibe is LG state on there website it is wifi capable with no need for an ethernet cable however it isn't so lg need to sort that out.

The one i bought was sent back due to the fact i found a panasonic one i wanted please dont underestimate this player as it is very good as a basic bluray player offers excellent features, quality and best of all at a fraction of the cost of other players.

It is sad i have to offer a 4/5 but due to the disc read error, and lg misprints i am forced to do this.

nice slim design, easy to use menu, superb picture quality(1080p) would highly recommend this model to anyone, works great with usb stick or external hard drive.

Best piece of equipment I got since my first laptop probably! Plays all videos, bluray shows nicely, dvd just fly! i cannot belive that I used to spend all that time and money on all those crappy cables and signal senders to try to connect my pc/laptop to tv. Get yourself one of those and forget about all these cables and mess! Love it!
