Marantz cd 6000 ose bargains

Created: 15/11/10
I am fanatic of anything Marantz and have been purchasing lots of Marantz machines since 20 years ago. My last cd player was a cd67 which i rated very well until its laser packed recently. The cost of repair would be 80 to 100 pounds, a second hand cd67 would be half of that so the hunt was on for good ( cheap ) used machine.
After trolling through reviews i eventually rounded it up to a cd600 ose or a cd6000 ki signature. I also looked a possibly purchasing a much older pristine high-ish end cd player but bids tend to go stupidly high due to the rarity and collectability of these machines.
I started off bidding for ki signature machines but they would sell everytime for 250 to 300 quid so they were out of the equation. My next step was to look for a cd 600 ose, very similar but without the heavy copper chassis and a slightly different DAC. I lost out on a couple and then eventually found one pristine, boxed with remote for 65 quid! If thats not a bargain then i dont know what is?
The sound of this machine? Well i can only describe it as stunning! This is the sound reproduction ive been wanting for years and now ive got it, for 65 quid!
I use it with a Marantz pm 7200, ( massive power ), connected with a very high end audioquest emerald interconnect. The speakers are huge B and W 683's and in a large room. The sound compared to what i was getting with the cd67 is like night and day. The cd 6000 has so much more detail and digs deep to give more sound and info that i never got before. The weight and scale before as you can imagine was tremendous, but now it makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck. Its so good that i cant imagine how a Naim or Meridian system for example could be worth spending many thousands for. Can the hi-fi from one these mega systems be that much better? I will leave that decision up to you but for now i will stick my 65 quid cd player!

this cd player had a good review from tnt-audio and is around 12 years old, probably around £250 when new and i bought it for £60.it has a very clear and sweet sound and plays all types of music very well. compares well to the arcam player a also own, but marantz players seem to have their own distinctive style. it has earned its place in the front room because it handles all types of music so nicely and i can hear loads of detail in the music even at low volumes

Quite simply, if you put this cd player in the right system, you have a giant killer. The detail on offer for this kind of money is outstanding, I should know, I own one of the best players ever made and there's little difference. Marantz got it right with the cd 6000 signature. If you are looking for a classic cd player for little money, then look no further.

Excuse the English, but I am an Italian buyer.

The CDP Marantz 6000OSE KI Signature is really the best buy for musicality, transparency and detail of sound in this price range!!

Ciao, Giovanni
