Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset

I recently purchase a Microsoft LifeChat LX3000 headset from ebay. I have paid more for other headset I have had in the past and so far this one is lasting longer brilliant sound great for using with chat, watching film, and listening to music. When this one breaks I will buy the same one if this model does not discontinued.

Headphones work well, though the gain on the microphone seems low. Comfortable to wear but you need the right software for it to work properly (download 'LifeChat' and 'Windows Live', though the latter may not be strictly needed). Being USB just plug it in and once set up it will work fine for Webchat or the equivalent.

I brought the headset because my friends were complaining of background noise from my tv and computers. This headset has got fantastic noise reduction and did sort out that problem.
BUT, After wearing the headset for more than an hour, it does start to hurt my ears due to such a firm grip. Also, one of my friends said they could hear me breathing which I can understand must of been quite annoying however this problem only appeared on certain voip platforms.
I have it connected to my mac and the volume and microphone mute buttons all work fine. The live chat button does not work on my mac however and doesn't appear to be configurable however I don't really mind about that.
This has been my first headset so I can't really compare it to others but overall I would say 4/5 stars.

This headset is a brilliant buy for anyone on a fairly small budget, it offers great sound which you would receive in much higher-end headsets/headphones and the microphone quality is crystal clear, people on the other end of it have no problem hearing you at all.

I've been looking around for a new headset for a while now. I was slightly unsure on what to expect from this, being a Microsoft item. However it is absolutely amazing! The quality of both the microphone and the headset is top notch. Don't let other reviews put you in, this doesn't come with software and is literally plug-n-play.
