Fantastic tablet, simple as that.

After a bad experience with a non-brand tablet and as someone who won't buy Apple on principle, I decided to go with one of the big names. I am so glad I did. I bought it second hand, but in perfect condition and it is amazing. Even though it is an earlier version (Gen 1) there is no difference between the performance on this and my mates Gen 2.
Screen & Graphics:
I generally use this for reading; comics as well as books (including manuals) and the screen is crisp, responsive and intuitive. The graphics are fluent, even on HD games and don't seem to bother the processor much, there's no lag at all.
Battery:
It charges very quickly, even from a low battery and holds it's charge well, obviously video will drain it more quickly than reading. I find with reading and general browsing I need to charge every 2 days or so.
Features:
The basic android system is great and if you can't find an app to do what you want in the play store then there is something wrong with you. The device came with 32gb and a slot for another 32gb via sd card, so has ample space for whatever you want.
Speaker:
The speaker is pretty loud for a small device, but be realistic, it's good for sound on movies but if you're an audiophile expecting surround sound then you're looking at the wrong technology. For a tablet, the speaker is very good, not crackly at louder volumes.
All in all, a great - and I use that term rarely - little device, for whatever you want. Reading, gaming, films, casual music, internet, even Photoshop, drawing and 3D work.

An excellent machine let down by lack of development and OS upgrade to ICS

I bought this tablet through the Tesco ebay site - excellent service, quick delivery and very competitive price. I have been using it for nearly a month and, generally , I am very pleased with its performance.
Plus points are the clear display and it is quick in operation but I, along with many other Zoom owners have been let down by Motorola reluctance to release the ICS 4.04 upgrade to the OS. The majority of similar tablets, of unknown brands, imported to the UK from China come with the current upgrade installed but Motorola seem determined to regard customer service as unimportant. The upgrade has been available in the USA since the start of 2012 but Non US customers are still waiting for its release.
Other negative points are 1) lack of compatability with apps such as BBC player, SKYPE, and many others. 2) inability to connect to peripherals such as printers, portable HDD, and media players. 3) machine does not allow for manipulating data etc, on a storage card.
I bought this to complement my iphone, so that I had the best of both Apple and Android - unfortunately the experience has been a disappointment - I feel I have been let down by Motorola - the ZOOM is an excellent machine, and a strong competitor to the iPad let down by a lack of development and upgrading by its manufacturer.

Pros: Battery Life, Size, Android Apps World, 32 SD slot, 4G, Flashplayer
Cons: ---
I bought this when I knew that the 4G upgrade was around the corner. I have a Motorola Droid X2 and have gone back to using it as a phone/text tool and not a computer ~ which it isn't. The Xoom is easy to use, the apps are great, Battery Lift is incredible. At 4G, it's faster than my DSL at home. If you are like me and put your music, pictures and movies on external storage, than this is for you. I can put in any Micro SD card with movies on it to watch on the go, or just watch Netflix, etc. I do wish it had some of the app's only available to Ipad. I wish there were more available accessories. Other than that, no complaints.Just make sure you get the gel cover, charging stand and a screen protector. I can't be happier after 3 weeks of having it.

I have a desktop, laptop and net book plus a smart phone and didnt think a tablet would be useful. But if all tablets are as good as the Motorola xoom then I have been prooved wrong. Its quick in loading and in general use, brilliant for skype and facebook, It has a really clear screen, Games work really well on it. The hard drive is big 32gig so playing downloaded movies onit is a doddle. It has bluetooth connection which is handy for my headphones. All in All a really good bit of kit

First Tablet experience and so far a good one. Different concept from laptops, for instance difficult to print to network printer. However, it is fast, responsive and adaptable with all the android apps. and upgrades available. A portable solution to using away from home and by tethering to a smart phone wi fi as a hotspot, no need to go for the 3G model. Intend to add a bluetooth, touchpad/mini keyboard to be a little more flexible.
