Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium (DVD) Dustin Hoffman
Created: 06/06/08
Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium is the strangest, most fantastic, most wonderful toy shop in the world. In fact, it's a magic toy shop and everything in it comes to life, including the shop itself. The Emporium asks only one thing of its customers; you must believe it to see it.
When Mr. Magorium (Dustin Hoffman), announces that he will be handing over his wonder-expanding shop to Molly Mahoney (Natalie Portman), the shop decides to throw an unusual tantrum and all the once sparkling, colourful toys turn grey and quiet. Only Mahoney with the help of 9 year old Eric (Zach Mills), and sceptical accountant Henry (Jason Bateman) can help save them, if they can find the source of magic inside themselves.

Brilliant family film. Who wouldn't want to go to a magical toy shop were all the toys and books come to life!! Dustin Hoffman is brill as ususal as Mr Magorium, a very talented actor. Slightly sad due to Mr Magorium "Leaving" but it is dealt with brilliantly. My 2 year adores this film and watches it over and over again and it never loses any of it magic. Highly recommended to all. Must have for wet days/school holidays. JUST FANTASTIC

Icky special-effects-gone-mad extravaganza that will greatly entertain the under-10s but may have older viewers looking frantically for a sick-bag. Dustin Hoffman gives a ripely hammy performance as the owner of a magical toyshop and pert little Natalie Portman is his whimsical assistant. In a word, YUK!

You are transported into a children's paradise, a toy store and a magical one at that. It brings to life all the things as a child that you dreamed of ever owning. The Director certainly deserves praise for one of the best children's films i have seen since Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and to have Dustin Hoffman play the toy shop owner was the perfect idea to bring this to life. All round i would say if you want to watch a great film with the kids and get some popcorn in, you will have the perfect night both for you and the kids, even grown ups will love this.

Enjoyable fun for all the family! A magical tale of a magical toyshop and its magical owner. Great performance by Dustin Hoffman, good story, but somehow it is not enough. Kids will love it and its certainly an enjoyable film for any age. Definately not the best film you will ever see though, but its well worth watching! Personally recommended by myself for a good, fun and enjoyable watch for everyone!
