NEW 7.0" Car GPS SAT NAV With 3D UK Map Speedcam 4GB

The sat nav part is excellent value for money and thats all i bought this for and i have even downloaded newest maps again and installed them just to make sure i could :) most of the other stuff mabe wont get used but overall for the money you cant go wrong ok you could buy a cheap tomtom for the money but you will deffo have to also buy a map update

The 7" screen size and free map update plus the price were all reasons why we bought this product.It has far exceeded expectations.It is very easy to use and has a very clear picture.All the added features such as the ereader, the radio,and being able to watch films make it a much better buy than just an ordinary satnav

This is excellent value for money. It was very easy to get started, but did take a moment to figure out how to put the postcode in (this is done when you click onto the "settlement" section), and it accepts the full uk postcode.

The available features are very good, but I don't expect to use most of them.

The sound is a little tinny but clear enough to understand, It may be clearer if I set the voice to a different option.

The speed camera warnings come up in, I assume, kph rather than mph, yet the road speed limits are in mph - I cannot figure out why.

It comes with a pedestrian setting as well, I discovered this when I arrived near my destination when it came up as an option automatically, but have not managed to figure out how to select it manually - not that I have tried hard as yet.

I have tried to go to the Naviextras.com regarding updates. When I tried to register the satnav, the iGO primo was not available on the options, and would not auto-detect either.
This is one that I am trying to figure out still, and will comment on in the future.

Overall, I am impressed with the satnav, it is very feature rich, and is why I am still trying to figure it all out!

The only thing that lets it down is the manual.

Never used a sat nav before so expected a learning curve. once you understand what it tells you its pretty good,at the start I was so impressed i wanted to marry the girl giving me directions , then we fell out after a complete misunderstanding at a set of junctions when she sent me back to the start point ! but I forgave her and we are now friends lol, it tells you to stay left which means if there is a junction coming up take it,if your unsure it tells you again 400 yards before the junction , when on a motorway at speed you have to be pretty quick. not tried any other features which to me is a bonus anyway. the screen is big and clear and menus easy to use.a air vent holder would have been beneficial . If I used one on a regular basis I would go for one that tells you to turn off at the junction and with the recognizable 3d pic of where you are but your talking a lot more money. However this is a nice piece of kit and well worth the money.

Regarding the Sat Nav properties, I was disappointed with the display brightness, in sunlight it is not easy to see the maps. The audio directions are fine and clear and the menu is easy to follow. The actual size of the unit may be a problem in small cars as it is a big, I think this may be a contributory reason re the display brightness. The Windows applications i.e. Word, Excel, and Power Point work but the display response was very disappointing taking many hits with the stylus to open and close the applications. All in all the Sat Nav is the only part of the unit which works well, albeit with a rather dim display in bright sunlight, OK in normal light. The Windows applications are workable but the screen response is very sluggish. I'm OK with it's limitations as I only wanted the Sat Nav, but it does not compare with other more expensive Sat Nav's, I have got what I paid for and I'm happy with it.
