I bought this as a used item to replace a wireless a/b router. I found that the default set up didn't connect to my ADSL intially. However, a bit of reading and comparison with the existing router set up solved the problem. This is the 4th Netgear router I've bought in the past 4 months and I thinks they are outstanding value for money. The documentation and support on the Netgear web site is extremely helpful. The forum has proved a great help for troubleshooting and sharing experiences. This model gives greatly improved coverage and signal strength. The speed increase using wireless-n is amazing!

This router has replaced my Voyager 105 ADSL modem and I wished that I had replaced the Voyager years ago. This Netgear 2200 has virtually doubled the internet access speed that I did not expect - really bought it to access my television using Panasonic Vierra via a ethernet network adaptor (WNCE2001).
I am quite delighted because everything works a treat!

I had a Netgear 56Mbps Wireless Broadband Router which was some years old and had started to become less reliable, with problems losing my ISP connection. I was able to fix this using the "switch-off, switch-on" method but this was becoming tiresome so I decided to replace it. Having had no other problems with the old router, I looked for another Netgear and found this one. Its features were virtually identical to the one I had, apart from being faster, and the seller was offering it unused and as-new at only £25, about one-third of the normal price. At this price it represents fantastic value for money but even at the full cost it would be well worth the investment. It was relatively easy to instal and just quietly gets on with the job! My download speeds have increased considerably and it is so far proving to be a reliable peice of kit. I would recommend this model to anyone looking for a new router.

Bought this as a replacement for the Thomson router that O2 gave me. It works great and the line synchs up at about the same speed. It's also a Broadcom chipset which is why I bought this router.
I'm running it with modfs to enable a few extra features and it works a charm. It's very quick and the interface is a lot faster than the Thomson. I've enabled telnet as well which is great.
Only down side is it does not have snmp enabled and it would likely be a mission to set up VLANs on it. The VLANs is not a biggie for me but snmp would have been very handy and saved me crafting expect scripts to get stats out of it.

Great router for small home networks with file sharing
Created: 20/05/11
Comes with an automatic set up CD thats very easy to follow even if you can't tell a dongle from a USB stick, all you need to know is your internet ID and password.
Haven't tried it's range yet but all the other reviews say it's pretty good.
Comes with a stand for upright or flat installation.
But it's best feature is the USB input.
For a home network simply put an external harddrive in the back of it and all computers now have access to it. No set up, just put the file on the CD on your PC, and it comes right up as an external drive.
Transfer speeds are good and it means in one little package you've got the perfect modem router and server.
