Nikon D700 12.1 MP Digital SLR Camera - Black (Body only) (European MPN)

Most of you looking at this Nikon know they will not be disapointed and if you can still get a new or mint s/hand body then you can rest assured it`s going to deliver.I also have a D7000 which i think is a great camera but the D700 gives me cleaner images especially in the shadow areas ,the only downside to this DSLR is the weight,if you`ve not moved up to the fx format yet consider the D700 before anything else.

You have propably already read this somewhere else,but this is simply a superb camera . It is on the heaver side, but it feels fantastic in your hand. All the buttons are where they are supposed to and you really do feel confident that it is not the camera failing, but your own photographic skills when things don't go right.

Auto-focus is superb. It grabs on to subject even in dimm light where the d7000 would of failed and that camera is no slouch either.

The view finder is nice and bright, but sadly only has 95% coverage, but this is no big deal really if you don't mind cropping a tad.

Yes it's 'only' 12megapixels, but still to this day I have not printed A1 posters, so I double this is going cause any sort of headache, and there are work arounds if you need it. Also as the image sizes are smaller than my d7000 file everything feels nice and quick on the computer when editing, allowing me to spend less time on the computer. happy days.

The colours are fantastic and the frame rate is easilly quick enough.

If you don't need video functionality nor are you a studio photographer I really can't see any reason why not grab this superb camera instead of the newer Nikons full-frames. I bet they are great, but you can bag a d700 for under £1000 and snap away for many years with total glee.

I own a Nikon D7000 i had problem backing up RAW images it was slow .So i tried a D700 it was very fast at backing up and taking the RAW pictures, So i got one on Ebay but i was not impressed with the pictures they are soft compared with my D7000 .The D700 is a good camera solid fast . and the grip rubbers are a problem with second hand models they come loose and you have to replace them but i still like it .

A mini version of the D3 this camera is excellent for low light photography with excellent ISO settings. Add the battery pack and you have a fantastic camera for sport.

Great Camera!! The most versatile, well specced and all rounded camera! I was going for D800 but the latter is more like Formula 1 car, I needed everyday (but fancy) car! Fits in the hand better than the D800 (ergonomically). I will eventually get the D800 or its successor for landscape or studio shooting. But this is going to be my everyday, every situation, workhorse camera for when I am not sure what shooting conditions I will face.

I gave it 4 stars only for 'Picture quality' because there are NEW camera that are better, due to the advancement of technology.

If the D800 was regarded as the bargain of the century (as it is, indeed) for its 36MP, the D700
was regarded, as well, the camera of the century by many pros for its reliability, durability and versatility!
