Three illumination patterns - Center-weighted, Even and Standard - provide total control over flash coverage and it covers a class-leading auto zoom range of 17-200mm in just 1.2 seconds.Advanced features include a booster circuit that enables high-speed recycling using four AA-type batteries and a built-in thermal protection system to warn of excessive heat build up. The SB-900 can automatically detect the presence of a fluorescent or incandescent color filter and transmit this information to the attached camera's white balance setting, and its firmware can be upgraded via the camera body. | |

I will recommend for every nikon user. it is value for money and it worth.great and fantastic speed light ever.

It is great for an amazing price. It is big, in my opinion, as bigger as better. And indeed the flash does great job. Especially it is wicked with a softbox. I purchased one 80 cm and used with Nikon D300s camera. I made only two steps and the flash was already transmitted through the camera. Before Nikon SB-900 I owned SB-800. Still cannot compare, because both actually are good. SB-900 only have some features, which really help in you production. I do really recommend it.

) Good flash highly recommend, bit heavy to carry around though.. I bought this product through ebay and was surprised that it was as good as it was described as I have had bad experiences before. It is the best out there in my opinion.
Compared to others that I have used, this is better by far.
The only thing that I dislike about the product is that it is a little too heavy to carry around compared to the other models.
