) I bought this lens to replace the 18-55 kit lens shipped with the D5100. The 18-105mm is a great lens, perfect for all everyday uses. The lens is well built, has good weight and isn't too big for taking on holiday. I find it has the perfect focal length for all typical situations, I even used it at a concert recently when I was sitting at the far end of the arena, and the images were stunning. I would highly recommend it for amateur or keen photographers. I never leave home without it.

) I am a learner photographer with the Nikon D70. This is my first lens and wow...it produces some great snaps. So much better then the automatic point & shoot cameras. Great value and a must for any beginner.
