Very popular for adults and kids. Addictive due to the large touch screen display. The sound is loud and clear. The gaming experience is top knotch. The only downside is the navigations can be a little weird. Eg in the middle of gaming if you wanted to switch off, you need a good few minutes to work out how to do it instead of a simple switch. Overall this item is value for money as you can also hook up to the internet. The camera takes a half descent picture and then you can zap it to where you like on the net. I would rate this as nearly a perfect item. 4.5 out of 5. Well done Nintendo!!!!!

Competing to win this item in this specific colour lead to a number of failed bids but finally one bid stuck and the deal was done, In good time too, as it was to be a Christmas present in one month's time and the wait to see the recipient's joy upon ripping off the wrapping paper was so well worth the wait.

The very same evening the machine was unpacked and plugged in for battery charging prior to registration and the first opportunity to "train brain" at getting on for 11.00pm.

The inbuilt camera provided an opportunity to set up a profile page and then it wad down tools until a new day dawns.

In summary a successful present that was hoped for and ultimately well received This household looks forward to the versatility of the machine for both parent and toddler to explore.

Been looking out for a bargain on this item all christmas. I have not been disappointed either when I received the item. The screen size is very noticebale compared to its predecessor the dsi. This makes a whole lot of difference, alot clearer.. Little disappointed with lack of choice on colours though. I have gone with the wine red which is probably the best of the colours, does not stand out like a sore thumb.

You get brain training installed already which is quite good as well. Easy wi-fi set up.

If you are looking to buy a ds for the first time go with this one just a little extra money but a few extra features and the bigger screen makes it worth it. If you are looking at an upgrade then you wont find a whole lot of differences other than the big screen and connect wi-fi anywhere.

The ds is a great console, this has all the original features with the benefit of a bigger screen and a camera. My son wanted it for his birthday and my teenage son has also played a lot with it. I think the bigger screen is excellent and the camera adds a fun dimension.

A shame with game selection is that when we went to buy a new game, Fifa 12, this is only available is the newer 3d mode which we were told this console does not support. As a parent I am disappointed that once again it is all about upgrades and my eldest son is already asking me for the 3d version. I am a little concerned all newer games will initially be released for 3d and not older models like this.

Overall impressed with the console, ease of use and diverse range of games, some of which even I enjoy!

these dsi xl's are fab. great for kids in the car, on planes any travelling. and with all the accessories you can buy now the battery need never run out. the games you can buy now are for all ages from2-3 ish right up to 80+. the extra large screen makes the games bigger, brighter and more easily seen. the new big stylus means those younger , older or have problems gripping small things can use this. The cameras are excellent, without a doubt my 8 yr olds fave part. the pictures are of excellent quality, you can change them with all the extra frames etc you get within the console, warp faces to look freaky etc. my kids have ds's right from the original one and this is without a doubt the best!
