Nokia 6021 - Why buy one ??
Created: 24/12/08
I needed a 'basic' mobile phone - no camera, radio etc.. it just needs to be totally reliable for making and receiving phone calls!!
Why a Nokia ??
* We already have a Nokia 6230i that uses the same charger as the 6021 ...most
ebayers selling phones do NOT include a charger unless specifically
mentioned.
* We are already familiar with and like the easy to navigate and use Nokia menu
system.
Why the 6021 ??
* Apart from the secondhand purchase price of less than £10, the display is of
high quality - the same as more expensive models such as the 6230 or 6230i
phones.
The menu uses large scale characters easy for someone with impaired vision
to read.
* Unlike most phones - Nokia or not, the buttons have a curved top which is
a must for anyone with large fingers.
* Unlike most phones - Nokia or not, the 6021 has a large 'no nonsense' ON/OFF
button that stretches across the width of the phone. You don't need a
screwdriver, pen or needle to switch it on/off !
* The 6021 has a triple band transceiver and active aerial for reliable
connectivity - the same technology is used in phones costing considerably
more - even secondhand.
Overall, the 6021 employs many if not most other features found across the Nokia range, however.. for just the simple points mentioned above, I rate it a good buy.
Full technical specification with user handbook can currently be found at the Nokia website. (24/12/08)

Well, I will start by saying that it's a Nokia, the name pretty much speaks for itself.
The Nokia 6021 in my opinion is a superb phone with most of the features that you would expect like Bluetooth and Infrared connectivity, WAP, GPRS, email plus much more.
An excellent colour screen to display picture messages, etc. The only thing that it doesn't have is a Camera, with all of the above in mind, the Nokia 6021 is an excellent choice for people who want to use it as a business phone or for those who just don't use the Camera function.
To sum it up then, it's a reliable phone, nice & light but not too light, simple to use, packed full of features, excellent battery life and I think it looks nice too!!
I have one comment to make about a review that the e-phonestore wrote about this phone. They say to avoid cheap refurbs around the £25 mark and used ones less than £20. I think you have to judge each phone and it's seller on it's own merit. You could bag yourselves a bargain at under £20/£25 and never look back. I think that comment was made to scare you into buying their phones!
Hope this helps, I'm just a regular Ebayer looking for the best but honest deal, I'm sure you're all the same as me!
Kind regards
Snatsy

This phone is the natural upgrade from the excellent but out-of-date Nokia 6310 business phone because it has:
Excellent battery life

good dimensions
is robust and well built (it won't break easily)
Good call, microphone and speaker quality
Has a well-sized, responsive keypad
the ubiquitous old-style Nokia charger socket
has a reflective screen you can read outdoors
the intuitive classic Nokia menu system with shortcuts
lots of contact space
connects to just about anything via IR and Bluetooth
PIM functions that Synchronise with your PC MS Outlook PIM automatically using Bluetooth

Liked the fact that it fitted in the new sports car convertible purchased with a cradle pre-fitted specially for the 6021. It combined with the peripheral perfectly and worked first time. A sim was inserted and that worked first time, the battery charged and worked first time. Liked the fact that its user interface is similar to most Nokia's of it's time, a breeze to use. Quality of design is good although the back cover is a bit flimsily manufactured, if you were to constantly remove and replace the cover it would possibly suffer from a fatigue fracture. Bluetooth, messaging, phonebook even infra-red. Great functionality and even greater to see that these older phones maybe pressed into relevant and functional use even as just a dedicated car phone.

The Nokia 6021 is a robust little work horse, with good battery life and ideal for those who want a phone without gimmicks.
I brought my original 6021 to replace a 6310i which had performed sterling service over 6 years. The 6021 had been bounced numerous times without any noticeable ill effects except some cosmetic damage, but unfortunately didn’t swim very well.
I brought a Nokia 2630 to replace it but it was rubbish and after a week a sought out another 6021.
Positives: - Excellent battery life (typically 4 days standby / 8 to 10 hours call time). Good clear display and positive operation of keys and joystick. Build quality is very good and there is enough memory for an extensive phone book.
Negatives: - Limited extras (no camera, MP3 functions or radio), but I wanted a phone to call and text and I find it ideal.
