Nokia 6310i Mobile Phone
Created: 04/10/08
As someone who "doesn't use" mobile phones I have been been sufficiently impressed by Nokia's 6310i to buy two of them! And sufficiently impressed with eBay's value for money to buy both on eBay. The first was bought new three years ago for £116 from Ireland, and kept in my car for emergencies and to inform people of delayed journeys. It is little used and the long battery life is a boon. A Bluetooth earpiece donated by a friend is seldom used as my calls are brief. A car charger donated by a relative has not yet been needed as there's a spare battery, but is a welcome back-up.
The used second one was bought recently for £25 following my experience with visitors from abroad. In order to contact them during their UK travels it's necessary to call via their home countries! Both phones have Mobile World from Carphone Warehouse, a pay as you go scheme with no "use by" time limit on the credit, and calls to overseas for as little as 3p/min, and 15p/min within the UK. This phone can be used by them for calls in the UK and to home, and makes it easier and cheaper for me to call them.
Batteries, chargers, and Bluetooth can be used by both phones, and the user friendly 6310i provides a welcome facility for my guests.

Nokia 6310i - a mobile phone for grown-ups
Created: 05/01/08
I bought this mobile phone to replace a broken Nokia 6210, primarily because it was the most up-to-date model that fitted the cradle in our car. However compared with more modern mobile phones (such as those owned by the teenagers in my family) with their in-built cameras and MP3 players, the relative simplicity of 6310i offers a number of advantages to someone like me who just wants a phone that works.
This simplicity means that the 6310i is easy to use and is very reliable. It has excellent performance in terms of communication range – useful in areas with poor base station coverage – and quality of speech reproduction. It also enjoys exceptional battery life, particularly when compared with more modern phones. This is due in part to its monochrome screen, clearly legible even the backlight is off and consuming less current from the battery than a colour screen. In fact what is the point of a colour screen on a mobile phone anyway? All it does is waste power.
In conclusion the Nokia 6310i is not cluttered with any unnecessary features, it has only those which serve its function as a phone. Perhaps an updated model by Nokia that offered the same functionality, but with the even better performance that could be obtained with the latest electronics technology, would be a winner, particularly with grown-ups like me.

This phone is an old design, but it works very well, has good signal strength is most areas, is tough and durable,it also has a good battery life, and spare parts ( new screeens etc ) can be bought and fitted by a compitant idiot like myself....! It was a very common to be found fitted with hands free in a lot of company vehicles, and this is why i wanted one, i bought an ex aa vehicle which had all the wiring and cradle just needing a nokia 6310 to go in it, and all nokias are user friendly and what i call " idiot proof " ( yes i am an idiot- LOL ) this phone is one of the best old school phones, and it is tri band....!

Refurbished NOKIA 6310i
Created: 02/03/10
Without a doubt this phone is a design classic, It's ergonomics feel right in the hand it's simple to use the keypad is large enough for a man with big fingers. The battery life compares well to most new phones, and the functions are what I want and need.So the basic product is a winner with me. I lost my original 6310i a couple of years ago and quickly came to realise there is no adequate replacement out there, I am therefore pleased that refurbished unlocked models are available, The one I received is in good working order but the battery was used and although holds a charge it remains to be seen how much life is left in it, the casing is not cosmetically perfect, there were marks where a new screen section has been fitted, and this panel feels a little loose. The main case was chipped in the bottom corners, but overall I am pleased to own a great mobile phone and I hope I will be able to replace this one in the future. If anyone from NOKIA is reading this, reintroduce the 63210i you will sell them all day long.

This phone is the best nokia i have ever used! i have been using this model now for nearly 6 years and i cant fault it at all the battery life is amazing normally a week but most of time it spends in the car kit in my truck, its easy to use simply and does quite a bit, its a shame it has not a camera but it does what it was built for great.
