Excellent little phone. The last high-end clamshell Nokia phone and what a shame that they don't make clamshells anymore cause' they've done it in style with this one.
This has some decently up to date features even in 2011 with fast 3G connection, built-in email, and front facing camera. The main back camera has 2xLEDs so it works ok even in very dark conditions, 2MP might be a bit small for 2011 but this is was released two years ago and who uses camera phones anyway...
Tons of features, there are few features that this doesn't have. The display is superbly sharp and a good size, the external display is just excellent. This phone has high-end nokia features like "turn to silent", when someone calls, turn the phone around to make it silent...
The motorised clamshell opening function is superb - this is not a spring operated clamshell, it's actually a small motor that opens the flip with the press of the only -perfectly placed button on the right side of the phone. The flip button is hard enough so it doesn't get pressed when in your pocket or by mistake, etc.
Superb quality built, extremely slim, solid and tiny, fits superbly in any palm, made mainly from metal, the frame is all metal and you can feel it when opening the phone it clicks just perfectly.
Don't get put off by some bad reviews that are found across the net about this phone having issues, these poor reviews are from negative people that obviously don't understand that technology can go wrong sometimes.
I am using this as a second phone along with my iPhone4 and in terms of battery life and style this outperforms iPhone 4 and many iPhones to come.
You won't find a more stylish, smaller clamshell anywhere that does all that a phone should do and much more and does it very well, this isn't even available in any online store anymore so the only way to get it is on eBay like me, luckily I snapped mine brand new and sealed which is quite rare. This is fast becoming a collector's piece as it's VERY hard to get hold of in brand new condition.
And finally, I would rate this phone:
★★★★★
Mainly because of it's unmatched superb style, probably the best looking clamshell phone ever.

Time to "FLIP"...
Created: 06/10/10
With the digital age in full swing now,, and the "phone market" bombarded with a variety of different handsets especially over the past decade I felt why not try my luck and flip the lid,, go for something with that retro feel but contemporary at the same time. Dont get me wrong,, this handset isn't exactly a Blackberry or iPhone but what it might lack in respect of the quality offered by those handsets,, it more than makes up for in its sharp looks and simplicity. The sleek design and how aesthetically pleasing bodes further well for the phone and is easy on the eye and was another overwhelming factor in me deciding to purchase this handset. Aside from this,, as Nokia has always done over the years and what they are renound for is there simplicity and how easy they make it for the user to navigate through the various options on offer. One ever-so slight reservation I might have is the fact that the phone is such a light weight that an accidental drop on a hard surface may cause irrepairable damage. Also the flip feels a bit loose indicating excessive use may wear that out as well. But a little "handle with care" attitude wont go amiss. All in all for the short period for which i have had the handset it seems to be ticking all the right boxes and long may that continue.

Excellent phone, has all the features I like

I like a flip-phone, Nokia's my preferred brand, and this is the best I've used yet. Easy opening, ideal size of key-pad. I love its sleek shape, not having to open it to check for messages or see the time - two taps is all it takes, excellent sound, really good camera, in fact I love everything about it. An added bonus: the battery charges in no time at all! Plus the purple one's such a gorgeous colour! All things considered, I'd have to say this is the best mobile phone I've used yet.

An OK Flip-Phone
Created: 14/12/08
I always had a thing for flip phones, thats why i chose this Nokia 6600 Fold. It cost me £190 altogether, which looking back on i dont think was entirely worth it.
Good Points
@ Flip Phone Style which i love
@ Small and sleek design
@ Simplicity of buttons, and size of buttons
@ Automated flip motion
Bad Points
@ Only a 2MP camera
@ No Wi-Fi or other high-end features
@ Quite heavy considering size
Overall its an average phone with an average set of features. For the £200 price tag you dont get some of the high end features other phones around the same price range have. e.g I recently found a Samsung G400 for an extra £35 which has a 5MP camera and much more. The design is good, but it is pretty heavy for its size. It has the usual Nokia symbian interface which was dull.
I think your paying the extra money for the design and styling rather than features. I would recommend going for another flip phone or slide phone which offers better features for around the same price - maybe a Samsung as i think all the mid-range Nokias are more or less the same.

I'm loving it...

I bought this to replace my faithful old Nokia 6103, which sadly drowned. The 6600 is a well built, compact phone that does everything I need and a little more. It has good sound and picture quality, and the "hidden screen" feature is really cool. This phone won't change your life, but your mates will be impressed at how shiny, smooth and lovely it looks when you whip it out.
