Touch or Qwerty?
Created: 17/11/10
After much online research, and pestering many fellow bus travellers of a younger generation, I decided that the Blackberry was overpriced, and the whizzy touch screen models were either too cheap and tacky, or receiving mixed reviews.
I was tempted perhaps only by the Samsung Genio and the HTC wildfire models.
In the end, I settled for the Q type but in a modern phone. Many friends recommended the Nokia C3, and this has proved to be the real deal.
Easy to set up.Not too gimmicky. If you dislike Facebook, Twitter etc, just switch them off.The direct online access integrates smoothly with hotmail and googlemail, and once I switched off predictive texting, this was fine and dandy. The keyguard function is good, the screen is a good size, and the qwerty keys are neither too small, chunky, or loose plastic. Just right in fact. If I have only one quibble at this early stage, is the limited style range of ring tones supplied as standard. Definitely aiming for the younger market. Easily solved of course by a download, or just switching to silent mode.
Take time checking out reliable sellers on Ebay, make sure the box contains everything including charger, extra memory card, new sim etc. Then the right seller found, a fair price can be had, undercutting the high street shops.
I am very happy with the new phone, and the seller was an ideal contact, friendly and helpful.
So, a big yes to the Nokia C3. Hope it lasts me a good 4 or 5 years on PAYG.
And another success story for Ebay buying and selling.

Great phone, more of the same from Nokia.

I've been a Nokia user for years now, and I'm sure anyone who has used one for any length of time would agree that they make among the toughest, most hard-wearing, reliable phones on the market. The C3 is no exception.
Combining typical Nokia style with more advanced features, the C3 is an affordable alternative to new smartphones. It's easy to follow operating system as ever is a joy, Nokia seem to be one of the few designers who have a winning formula, and are quite content to stick with it. Features include WLAN and GPRS, both providing more-than-adequate internet coverage.
The C3's lack of 3G interface is a minor problem, though for slight speed change from GPRS, it's not major.
Overall the C3 is a stunning phone, amazingly good value for money, very well-built and an all-round good buy. Another great Nokia - we've come to expect nothing less.

highly recommended handset !
I;m on of those that likes only the nokia phones as they are easy to understand and navigate. my 1st nokia was the 3510 which I had for about 7 years, then I went over to the 6233 which was an excellent phone and used it for about 6 years until eventually upgrading to the c3-01 which at first was very dubious about as it was a touch screen (which before I got this one "hated" !)
the phone is very easy to navigate through the menu and easy to make and receive calls and basic texting and so on.
it is also crammed with lots of features like the wlan, 3g, email , internet and so on which are all easy to use and not to fiddly to navigate and find your way around.
the only thing that lets it down is the battery, for normal everyday calls and texts it will last 2 days but if using for internet and music...etc it will only last for the day (unlike my nokia 6233 that lasted 4 to 5 days)

Always been a big fan of Nokia phones and this one certainly caught me eye. I've had a smartphone for nearly 2 years and it worked out ok, bit it missed that something that Nokia phones always have, simplicity and usefulness.
I like the style and design of the phone and despite being a 2.4 inch screen it is more than enough to see everything I need (my old phone was 4.3 inches).

I am very please with my new phone and love it, it is so easy to use and i love the colour and the back protector that came with it, i think i got it a reasonable price as they are nearly £100 new so yes i am very pleased with my product.
I decided to buy this item as i fancied a change from my other phone and wanted to go back to nokia and the fact that it is pink was a bonus.
