| Author Biography | Lisa Maxwell was born in London in 1963. Brought up on a council estate in the Elephant and Castle by her mum, Nan and Granddad, she was sent to the Italia Conti stage school at a young age for elocution lessons. She got her first job on TV at the age of 11, and hasn't looked back since - presenting children's TV shows and appearing on sketch shows like, the Russ Abbott Show, and her own, self-titled show, The Lisa Maxwell Show, before moving more firmly into acting. She narrowly missed out on the part of Daphne in Frazier. And then, for seven years, played the part of The Bill's DI Sam Nixon. In 2009 she left The Bill and joined Loose Women, where she quickly became an audience favourite. She now lives in Cheltenham with her partner and her daughter. |
