Pace TDS470NB 80 GB PVR Satellite Receiver

After experiencing many problems with the Amstrad installed by Sky,such memory loss,sound differential between TV & box and picture freezing. I decided to find a secondhand replacement on Ebay. I chose aPace box because of it's reputation for reliability.I found a Pace box and won the auction for a good price. I had the box operating now for 2 weeks and I'm very satisfied with my choice.

I bought the reciever on ebay because my old Amstrad was jumping on certain channels, whatever i tried to put it right. Although the Pace is second hand it is much quicker than my Amstrad was and up to now is fault free.Also the person i bought it from was very helpfull and friendly.
I had a bit of trouble initially because the Pace was on a different wavelength to the Amsrad so i had to retune all of my televisions to it.Also when pairing my sky card to the pace, although you are supposed to be able to do using the on screen menu.I had to ring sky to complete the pairing.

When is comes to tv viewing sky hd is the ultimate. It can be costly compared to others like virgin but its alot easier to use, has lots of storage space and looks great too.

When my original 5 year-old Sky+ box failed to perform as expected, I decided to buy a 'used' replacement Sky+ box. WHEN PURCHASING A 'USED' SKY+ BOX IT IS NECESSARY TO CONTACT SKY TO GET THEM TO MARRY-UP YOUR VIEWING CARD WITH THE REPLACEMENT BOX, OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO ACCESS ANY PREMIUM CHANNELS THAT YOU MAY SUBSCRIBE TO. IT IS VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD PROCEDURE - ALL THE INFORMATION THAT YOU NEED (i.e. MODEL NUMBER, VERSION NUMBER, SKY VIEWING CARD NUMBER etc) CAN BE FOUND ON THE SYSTEM SET-UP, SYSTEM DETAILS MENU.

To fully utilise the Sky Plus record functionality, you need to install a Quad LNB and second cable. This will mean you can record one channel whilst watching another, or alternatively record two channels whilst watching something pre-recorded. You can still use the Sky+ functionality with a single cable, but will be limited to watching the channel you are recording
