Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G3K 16.0 MP Digital Camera - Black (Kit w/ ASPH 14-42mm Lens)

I have recently owned many a camera of all sorts from Canon SLR to P&S etc. This Panasonic lumix is excellent with a very capable sensor that makes it sure that the camera shoots decent images even in dim light and a very usable 2x digital zoom that is surprisingly good. In addition the size of the camera makes it a lot easier to take along as compared to the cumbersome slrs. It’s a treat but mind it takes a lot of getting used to requiring some practice. I also use my old Olympus zuiko lenses with very encouraging results. Video is very good but without the creative options of some dslrs.

Recently owned a finepix bridge camera which served me well so I was looking for something of similar size and capability.The G3 fitted the bill it is small, light,easy to use.The fully auto setting gives v.good results for general use and there are more than enough facilities if you want to be adventurous.My only negative comment at this stage is that given the cost of the manual lens it is not quite as smooth in operation as I would have hoped but fortunately doesn't detract from the overall quality of the results.I personally don't like relying on a lcd screen on the back of a camera alone so like having the choice of thru the lens viewing.The G3 gives me compactness,range of use and quality so I am pleased with my choice.Do shop around re price, panasonic want over £600 for this item on their own website.Several sites are far more realistic.

This is a fantastic camera, small enough to carry to any situation and still provide the image quality and functionality to get great images.

The best DMC idiot proof camera on the market and at a very reasonable price. For everyday snaps the 1A setting will take the guess work out for the beginner. However there are plenty of features for the enthusiast.

Love the camera, the picture quality is excellent even for a beginner. Takes some great shots outside. For a beginner can be more difficult with inside shots but that could be down to my lack of experience and the newness of the camera. Battery life to short, but could be a rouge battery.
