I bought a Panasonic Lumix on the advice of a photography tutor at the college and chose this model after doing my homework on the internet.
I haven't the skill or time to explore all the possibilities yet but so far I have found it amazingly easy to just take out of the box and snap with! Very clear and simple controls, it has a setting called 'intelligent automatic' which suits me as a begginer until I get some instruction, I'm not an instruction book reader! Loaded the software, no sweat, downloaded pictures, easy peasy and fast! Am looking forward to playing with my new toy and doing all kinds of extraordinary stuff!

I am a semi-professional photographer and I bought this camera at a very reasonable price on Ebay because I wanted something where I could exercise control over the picture-taking process and get excellent image quality. This camera has go the lot. There is virtually nothing it can't do and it is so neat that can sit in your breast pocket. Best of all the lens is absolutely superb, especially the digital zoom which beggars belief for quality and range. The only con is that it has so many features and controls that it takes a while to know where to find them. For compactness and quality it takes a lot of beating. It would have been nice to have a viewfinder, but you can't have everything.
