|The Pentax Spotmatic SP 1000 is a manual focus SLR camera with a built-in light meter that uses two sensitive cadmium sulphide sensors. These sensors measure the incoming light beam intensity to match it with the reading indicated by the needle on the meter seen through the viewfinder for accurate shots. A standard 55 mm f/2 SMC Takumar lens with automatic diaphragm has a focusing range between 45 cm (18 inches) to infinity and is mounted using an M42 screw-thread lens mount. Stop-down centre-weighted metering provides depth-of-field preview. This SLR camera shutter has rubberized silk curtains and features shutter speeds ranging from 1/1000 s to 1 s, as well as the B setting. A mismatch in the shutter and film speed settings with the meter’s measurability results in an alert as the index of the shutter speed turns red. This Pentax 35 mm film camera has a pentaprism eye-level viewfinder with a microprism Fresnel lens that focuses to provide maximum aperture for an accurate shot. The shutter speed dial on the Pentax 35 mm film camera can be used to vary shutter speeds, depending on the light conditions around the subject. The flash synchronisation feature uses the FP and X terminals on the Pentax 35 mm film camera for the right combination of flash terminal, flash contact, and flash bulb for maximum lamp efficiency. The Pentax Spotmatic SP 1000 has a 14.3-cm width, a 9.2-cm height, and an 8.8-cm depth (5.6 inches by 3.6 inches by 3.5 inches) and weighs 610 g (1.3 lbs).|
