Phil & Teds double buggy - what a cracker!

When you get to the point where you need to move two small kids around at the same time there are few more practical solution than a double buggy. BUT, what to go for as there is a bewildering choice...... Living an active and outdoors lifestyle narrows the choice to a cross-country type stroller and I don't reckon there is much to beat the Phil & Teds range. Hailing from that country of all things extreme and outdoors, New Zealand, the Phil & Teds buggies are a work of practical genius - its clearly been designed by someone who actually has children and needed a buggy for all things active as it is extremely well suited to its task. Sturdily built it offers a variety of seating choices to carry a baby in a carricot, a toddler, or with the optional doubles kit a toddler and a baby or two toddlers, whilst still offering some storage in the underslung basket/tray thing - it really is mighty clever. Bumps are soaked up by the pneumatic tyres and the front wheel can be locked in the dead ahead position or left to swivel for those tricky in-shop manoeuvres. The hand grip is adjustable & foam padded and the rear wheels have a very positive lock so there is no danger of your little ones rolling away. It also folds to not much bigger than a standard stroller/pushchair for easy stowage in car boots etc.
Pros? Its a genuinely well designed and thought out bit of kit. It carries two little ones comfortably and the doubles kit is pleasingly versatile. On a practical day to day basis it is a pleasure to use and an attractive thing to look at. It wheels very easily and is narrow enough to slip into shops and down paths with ease. Cross country it is as good as you could expect, the wheels are big enough to cope with normal terrain but aren't going to get you over a ploughed field or where it gets really rough. There is a comprehensive list of useful extras to enhance useability and a pretty buoyant second hand market.
Cons? It wanders a little when you are two up and the handle could do with being longer to offer more leverage, but its a compromise one can live with. Two up with a toddler on the top they feel a bit top heavy. The pneumatic tyres won't take loads of abuse and punctures are a reality - probably easiest to get them gel filled after purchase. Once folded it isn't the lightest thing to handle, so be prepared for some hefting. The hood isn't exactly comprehensive (but the additional rain cover is great). The zips on the main seat need treating with respect so as to avoid straining them. As pushchairs go, they aren't exactly cheap to buy..... and a lot of stuff is 'extra'.
Overall rating: Excellent.

As far as buggies and pushchairs go this one is fantastic, i would recommend getting one even if you only have one child because the options are there incase your family does grow. It rolls well, its light and it packs up so small.
my advice is get one you will NOT be disappointed.
