Pioneer AVH-P5900DVD Car Video Player

Amazing sound quality, top of the noch product here as expected from Pioneer, the DVD screen quality is excellent, I'm currently copying encoded DivX video (avi) files into a black DVD media and playing them in the car, does not play MP4, or FLV as downloaded from youtube so use this program called QuickMediaConvertor to copy your DVDs.

IPOD
I have the Ipod attachment for this device however it does not charge from Ipod touches 2nd gen and up.. It also does NOT stream video from the Ipod to the player video.

The bluetooth headset works great, your phone will recognise the device as a bluetooth headset and stream any music you play from your phone to the dvd player, it works neat and you can in some phones, control your phone from the dvd player.

I would like a firmware update for this 9500DVD player as my Ipod touch isn't charging while connected to the dvd player, I know that some phones can't recognize the dvd player via bluetooth and it would be so nice to play MP4 and FLV Xvid and a few other formats.. SD card support would of been nice also but u can't have everything.

Right first off i have to say this is going to be a positive review because it is a fantastic bit of kit. Why you may ask? Well when your stuck in a car on those rare occasions it is the best item in a car! Even pressing the cigarette lighter in and out till you eventually decide to see how hot the end isnt goning entertain you as much. (despite the fact you know glowing metal is red hot hence the name)

(A comedy dvd in a car is a must!)

OK, time for a overall review, this item does all the basics you need from a dvd player, large screen, plays dvds and a touch screen display for easy navigation through menus. Its does have a few above average features, DIVX playback and add on units.(Costly yet tidy)

The only real drawback to this unit is that it lacks a few frills. It's like a footballer that plays defence, its has its value in that it does what it should but they will rarely get any praise because to stop a goal is they're role. But there are others on the market that do there role and do it with style, a bit like a brazilian striker. Its menus are good they give you the options you need but dont have an sort of layout that you can see on an interface of a hi fi.

If you wanna spend alot of money then go big! but this unit is amazing value for money and is highly recommended.

It has a 7" touch screen with built in DVD and Divx Player. So no need to buy any external drives.

The best thing i love about it is the speed of the software, unlike other branded flip screen DVD players like the Ripspeed ones, It does everything you ask it to do quick and it looks so fantastic. The sound quality of this machine is unreal.

I decided to buy this because its quite cheap compared to other ones out on the market and it allow me to connect additional equipment such as a T.V tuner and bluetooth for hands free driving and streaming audio.

Very good unit. Amazing sound quality. Loads of features. Loads of extras you can get for it. Shame it doesn't have bluetooth built in (have to buy seperate hide-away unit). Nice touch screen (very responsive and easy to use). Well worth buying if you can get a good price
