Pure Digital Evoke Flow RDS, DAB, FM Radio

Purchased on Ebay as a brand new item. The box was sealed, so can confirm that the item was new. However once plugged into socket the display lights flickered between bright and dim. At times I thought this is going to blow up on me. Setting up the radio was pretty straight forward no problems with that. Lack of instructions meant I had to go on the internet site for Pure and download instructions on how to connect to the the radio to the internet. Once connected managed to listen to radio stations from across the world. Very good impressed. Sound quality is impressive from such a small radio. Cannot use ordinary everyday use rechargeable baterries so negative point on this as you need to fork out £30 for rechargeable batteries for this radio. Ouch. So portable it is not unless you buy the batteries!
Would I buy this radio again if I knew what I know now? the simple answer is a resounding NO.

The Evoke Flow was easy to set up. It took less than 10 minutes to connect everything up. The only confusing part was using their website to register for the server software. For those who lust after a bose style server system in their house this provides a music server output in any place your wi fi can reach. It sounds great especially for its size and with all those features and 16,000+ radio stations to go at there is plenty to listen to. It is fascinating listening to adverts for products in New Jersey!. DAB pulls in the signal well with the aerial up and very few stations have any digital drop out that I have experienced with cheaper DAB radios. I haven't even tried FM but I'm sure it is fine.

Works well as a DAB radio though the length of the antenna seems to be very critical to receiving good signal levels or nothing at all! Though the internet function was fairly easy to set up, I myself will probably not use it much - there is such a thing as too much to choose from. Switching off the power at the mains socket means the radio looses all data and takes some time to restore its settings again when switched on...even if used with a battery pack - I don't think I read anything about this elsewhere.

Update - after a few months of constant use in a steamy kitchen setting the radio still is performing well. Sound quality remains good.

ID GIVE THIS,10/10 ON EVERYTING,BUT MAKE SURE YOU
GET A RE,CHRG BATT INCLUDED,COSS TO BUY ONE SEP
WILL COST YOU NEARLY DOUBLE.

brilliant radio with loads of features,very posh,loved it in shop even without hearing it,sound is great
