An ideal book for the learner sailor - does what it says on the cover. Right through the basics of how to get aboard, to sailing with the wind, tacking, recovery from capsize, racing, sailboards, dinghies, multihulls etc etc. It's all in there.
If there is any criticism, it's that the references and contacts are all for American schools, coastguard etc. But that does not detract from the fact that if you are learning to sail, this is the book for you. Thanks to Ebay mine was a bargain - otherwise a but pricey to buy new. It will stay in my own reference library for a long time.

This is a great book, both for people new to sailing and for the more experienced 'old sea salts'. It is written in plain english and makes no pretentions to be anything other than a fun and useful read. It is obvious that the writers have a wealth of experience for the reader to draw on.
A great book !!
